People have to remember all that stuff with Peppers. Right? Would not sign a long term deal. The team (JR? JR/Fox?) obsessed over keeping him and tagged him. Then they tagged him again which was really really really expensive at the time. Cap space was screwed after paying him like a star QB* for two years. And we got nothing for him after all that.

That is where we were before the Delhomme restructure/new deal, I think Jake's deal gave them relief. They needed a lot of relief. Doesn't make it smart, but I don't think it was really all Hurney behind it at that time. Sure he wrote it but I doubt it was all him.

He was up there. Look at the highest QB salaries for those years and Pep was right there. It was pretty ridiculous. Warner, Eli, Cutler, Rivers, lot of big numbers but he was right there.

So your answer it’s to post the record of a GM that I have bashed more than anyone in THIS thread. Thinking Marty sux doesn’t mean a person automatically thinks DG is great. Or good. That’s you. Actually, that describes you perfectly. I've went on record that I don't think Hurney or Gettleman are good GM's. You, on the other hand, can't help but obsess over Dave and run to his defense anytime he's brought up. It's weird, but you do you man.

Actually, if you look at my post history on this board, you'll find a discuss any number of topics. You'll also find that in the last few years I haven't been starting topics related to Dave Gettleman. Why should I? He doesn't work here.

Your post history on the other hand would quickly tell us it's the only thing you ever come to talk about, and generally to try and get my attention, which is both pathetic and a little creepy.

dan morgan wasn't a good contract after those concussions either.  marty was on a roll.  he got jake and stephen davis on the cheap and decided he'd found a winning strategy.   like the first time you go hunting and a deer pops out and you think that's what hunting is.  hurney and gman both ruin teams, so of course they've both worked for the panthers
