Panthers sticking with Allen....

I want to see Grier.  Not because he will be better.  But because I want Hurney to stand behind his “big board”.

This isn't about Grier.  The team is evaluating Allen long and hard.  He's definitely #2 material, but is he #1?  If Grier wasn't drafted, he would have lost out to Taylor Heinicke for the #3 spot.  His draft status saved his butt.  Grier has earned the right to hold a clipboard and compete for a spot next training camp.

I can't speak for the team, but that's exactly what they are doing.  As for me...no, not now anyway.  I think he can be groomed to be a decent #1 in the future.  I think it's hilarious though that bringing in Will Grier and seeing 'how he handles struggling' is some indicator of his future success though.

Allen if I was you I would get a note from a doc that you slipped on the stairs and can’t play.  Don’t risk career ending injury for a couple of meaningless games because the amount of punishment you are taking out there is ridiculous.   If Panthers don’t want to start you next season find a team that will,  do it man.

He could be similar to Case Keenum.  I think he could grow as a backup for another year or two, get plucked up in FA and win an open competition on a team lacking a true franchise QB.  We've done well with some other teams backups signed away in FA.  Jake Delhomme and Steve Beuerlein come to mind.

Yeah, but I think you missed the whole back story on this.  In a nutshell, people whining about Grier not getting a shot now the season is lost and I am saying the team is seeing if Allen can be the #1 guy next year.  They have 3 games left to figure it out.  He's clearly #2 material, but can he be more? Again, a few games left to make that decision.

No..just a backup...face facts...Grier not playing maybe more to do with Grier than Allen
