Not saying that they are, just starting to wonder if they think it's time for some new ideas....who knows.

That contract they handed Ben is looking worse by the day.  Maybe he can come back full strength, who knows....but he ain't getting younger.

I agree.

Just weird to me that an organization would allow a coach to win a power struggle over front office if the front office was this good. I also wonder if the Ben conteact was part of the HC vs front office struggle...if so the Stealers could be headed towards a cliff fast.

He's a year younger than Marty Hurney.

What does that have to do with anything? Retiring is a decision. He's been taking one year contracts for a while now, and I recall several off-seasons now where it's been reported he's close to making a decision.

Rooney seems fine with letting Colbert ride off into the sunset. I get the feeling they wouldn't want to lose Brandon Hunt though.

Might not want to lose Omar Khan either, but if Khan is pissed about being passed over for GM, that doesn't exactly help things.

Of those two scenarios, Colbert / Caserio / Khan seems more likely, but I absolutely wouldn't put it past Tepper to go after Hunt. He'd certainly fit everything that Tepper said he wanted.

Getting Hunt also would be epic. Leaving Tomlin to prove he is a coach/GM...I'm not sure he is close to being a Belichick.

Makes me scratch my head for sure.  Seems like they are playing a little fast and loose lately.

First the AB contract, then the Ben contract, then trading a 1st for Fitzpatrick AFTER Ben went down with a throwing arm injury.

A little different than their normal approach.

This past year is actually the first time he declined to sign a two year extension.

Colbert might be younger than Hurney, but he's apparently not in great health

Hurney is spry like a chicken, still giving out mammoth contracts to mediocre players

I think Kevin might be trying to wind down from a long career

I've seen no stories about him being in poor health. In fact, when he was interviewed just a few months ago, he stated specifically that his moving to a year-to-year contract didn't mean this was his last season as a GM. Nor was his schedule slowing down at all.

LG's speculation that he might stay here just long enough to groom his long-term replacement makes more sense.

He certainly isn’t retiring anytime soon. .

   This is a complete lie.
