It's been a decade since a team found their franchise QB in the top 5 of the NFL draft

this is called “damning with faint praise”

im just saying i think it can be argued that cousins is a top 10 qb and maybe a franchise guy, its not totally laughable to put him up there iwth other franchise qbs

I’d take that bet in a heart beat. Burrow is 3 years older playing in his fifth year. Lawrence is in his second. I’ll take a 2 year wonder in his second year after high school over a 1 year wonder in his fifth year after high school.

Maybe both will be great but you are comparing a guy who could have been in his 2nd year in the pros with a guy who’s only played 2 years after high school.

I think Lawrence will be an amazing pro, better than anyone in college right now.

I agree. I prefer the 2021 draft of QBs over this years. Burrow is going 1 overall to Cincinnati and then what? Herbert is confusing and Tua has been hurt and missed big game time two seasons in a row. If Hurts is there in round 3-4 maybe you take a shot but earlier than that? Sketchy.

i hope we draft jalen.   he's thick, he's tough, he handled being replaced by tua with class and is shining at oklahoma.  i'm no qb mastermind and don't know how he'll pan out in the nfl, but i really really want him to.  not even sure why i like him so much but i'll be stoked beyond measure if we draft him.  and i think he'll be there when we draft, but who knows

Greg Roman as the HC, Jalen backup Cam for at least a year, sounds like a plan.

OP is selling Sam Darnold extremely short.

Both he and and Baker Mayfield are saddled with horrific coaching situations.

And it is far too early to judge them, let alone Murray or Jones or the other rookies from this year.
