Slightly different from Norv in that he looks to have told him not to think too much, just trust the play and throw the ball to the spot it's supposed to go.

I've seen that strategy before.

Well he's good for spot duty if the starter is hurt for some plays or filling in for an injured starter for a couple games. That's what you want from a backup. He just can't be asked to be a starter for a full season or even half of one. If backups could be good for that long, they wouldn't be backups anymore.
