Thing is Shaq is a ILB through and through, why he fits next to luke in the 3-4 looks but doesnt look as good when playing outside at OLB in 4-3. So if moving back to the 4-3, do you pay him that much... dont think so unless hes starting.

I would've paid him 10-12 mil per year. Maybe the true market required a little more. He's better than people give him credit for. I just hope that he doesn't mysteriously disappear now.

28 / 4 is 7 million a season. That's the guaranteed money of which 16M was paid upfront. That's 12M guaranteed over the next 4 seasons. 

It's like some folk don't even get how contracts breakdown, and are stuck on the face value of 57M over 4 years. 

This is a solid contract.

He's definitely got elite traits, but coaching staff has played him out of position last two years on outside when hes a ILB and was considered that coming out of college. 

 

Thing is, do you pay him that much to play OLB in 4-3? I dont think so, not unless hes starting at ILB. So think this means the 3-4 is here to stay and that was a Tepper move and not Rivera
