There is on average around 96 starting LBs in the league. Is he belong in the top 12, because that’s about how much we are paying him. No thanks.

It really does. The restructuring of Short guaranteeing more money to an aging, declining player. Signing a decent starter in Shaq to an elite money contract.

The more moves Hurney 2.0 makes, the more he looks just like Hurney 1.0.  These are the exact type mistakes that tanked us in his first time stint.

Shaq would easily have gotten this in FA.  He’s exactly what teams are looking for, quick 3down LBs who do not have to come off the field.  He’s a core player that any DC will value.

I doubt that this was figured into things, but the timing definitely could have been better.

"Hey, you know that guy you just watched get dragged down the field by a player on a 2-9 team last Sunday? Well, we just gave him a big contract extension. Isn't that great?"
