Not worth it. $28 million guaranteed.

So right...so right...nothing we can do about it...maybe he will get beat out and they can get a 5th or 6th round pick out of him.  He is not worth more than that on the trade market.  We could have used that money on a LG to RG to shore up our OLine.

Same old Panthers making dumb moves. Just polishing a turd at this point.

Shaq is a good player but how do they justify re-signing players right now when they don’t know who the coach will be or what defensive scheme will be run?

Um because Shaq is althetic as f*ck and they already know what defensive scheme they’ll be using moving forward.

Some of you are so clued out as to what’s going out yet are the very first to pipe up. Tepper is as “undecided” on things as you guys think.

22nd ranked defense on a 5 win team coming off 2 losses in 3 weeks to 2 win teams. I hope it works out, not sure doubling down on defense after we've been a defensive team for the last 2 decades is the best move with so much time and needs ahead.

You mean like when we were proud to have re-signed the "core" players from a team that had a couple of losing seasons?

And i still vividly remember people hating, hating Thomas Davis for a solid five years before he got good and everyone was his biggest fan lol

Yeah I remember this as well. "Is he a safety or a linebacker?" Lots of people complaining about him being to small to be an LB and the coaching staff couldn't figure out where they wanted him and kept moving him around.

Re:Shaq, I think he's got a lot of potential that a good coaching staff coming in would be able to capitalize on.

Money might be a little on the high side, but I don't think it's over the top or anything. I've seen much worse from hurney.

I do think it seems he's more scheme dependent and that's a concern going forward that it'll be a wasted investment if he isn't used properly but we'll see i guess. I just haven't been as down on him as most and see his upside. But a lot of good players are scheme dependent, so whatevs. I just see it from both angles and lean towards "this is fine"

Same here. So much more to worry about than this regarding the team and in life. Not stressing over Shaq getting this.

I won't stress too much over this if we also keep Bradberry

If it turns out we had to choose between one or the other and we chose Shaq, I won't be on board with that.
