David Tepper was famously known for only hiring Ivy League graduates at Appaloosa Management

My first option would be Lincoln Riley and Stefanski would be my second. I could definitely get behind this!

Mentioned elsewhere: I like Stefanski, but he's only been an OC for a year and a half. Heck, he's only been coaching at all for about ten years.

Both Josh McDaniels and Greg Roman have been coaching in the NFL for about twice as long and have very well established track records of success.

I don't care of he went to Oxford or Yale, if he doesn't have great leadership abilities he won't succeed as a head coach in the NFL. I would rather have a head coach who graduated from Florida with the leadership qualities of a QB who was a coaches son than some nerd from Penn.

Using this logic, our next quarterback is Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Quick Tip: Football ain't business, at least not on the field.

Stefanski may well be our next head coach, but if he is it'll have nothing to do with where he went to college.

you're so goddamn arrogant and obnoxious anytime someone posts something informative you haven't already thought of

If some nerd from Penn installs a system that wins, wanna make a wager as to whether people will follow him or not? This isn’t 1986 anymore, the days of thinking of anyone smart or math based as incapable of leadership   are long gone.

I've thought of Stefanski and I'd be okay with him, thought his lack of experience compared to other candidates does give me pause.

I just don't think what college he went to matters.

I thought this tweet from Rodrigue was interesting: “...I think Stefanski would absolutely be near the top of Tepper’s list. Maybe a Norv/Scott Turner plug there, with him...Think he’s a pretty perfect fit. Would perhaps want to have a veteran on staff - like Norv in consulting role...”

Would a dress the initial inexperience he would bring.

I didn't say anyone smart or math-based was incapable of leadership, I was saying that it wouldn't matter how smart he is if he doesn't have leadership ability that can handle a bunch of millionaire jocks in a locker room, it's not going to matter how good his analytics are

By this logic he could hire Jason Garrett and people would love it. Oh he went to Princeton, he will be a great head coach for us. Rubber face Jerry was just holding him back.

Looked at his bio. He apparently spent time at both Columbia and Princeton. He's also an offensive coach. I don't know his stance on analytics.

That said, I don't think anybody takes him seriously as a head coach candidate right now. Maybe as an OC or a quarterback coach.

And on a personal note, this would make me want to barf :poison:

I think it can be a chicken and egg thing. People will follow a guy who wins, but using the same logic you’re employing, you can have all the leadership qualities in the world, if you get consistently out coached and outschemed by smarter people, that eventually just leaves you at a press conference holding up a t shirt that says missed opportunities.
