David Tepper was famously known for only hiring Ivy League graduates at Appaloosa Management

Of course, but I think you misunderstand my point. Forget what school someone went to. Tepper likes very smart people. That’s the type.of person he hires.

Im totally on board with that. The Ivy League on designation just seems a strange fixation but then again, the high end financial world certainly has some very strange fixations.

I'm not against it.

I'm not either.

The point is Tepper wants highly intelligent people running things.

That part I don't disagree with. One of the big reasons the Patriots have been successful is that they g after smart players.

The Vikings thought so highly of him, they blocked him from becoming the Giants OC two years ago (an unusual move, given it would have been a promotion for the then quarterbacks coach).  He actually replaced Scott Turner as QBs coach.  He's been ascending through the ranks at every stage of the process.

A very good read here as well,

Why Kevin Stefanski Might Be the NFL's Next Great Offensive Coach

DARING TO BE DIFFERENT

As much as analysts emphasize the differences between NFL offenses, the truth is most offenses end up looking a lot alike in the NFL. Too often offenses rely on what has worked before, because that’s the way it’s always been done, and that leads to an inertia where coaches shirk creativity.

Stefanski is different.

the Browns again went against their advice and went with Freddie Kitchens, who served as the Browns’ interim head coach last season following the firing of Hue Jackson.

Not that it matters but it'll bother me if it turns out I thought incorrectly, but wasn't Gregg Williams the interim head coach, not Freddie Kitchens?

cruel cruel irony if the Panthers move on from Cam the same year they hire an offensive wiz at head coach

It really does bother you

If only the Richardson allegations had come out a few years sooner and allowed Tepper to buy the Panthers during Cam's prime.  Hard to even imagine what a prime Cam Newton could have done to the NFL with an innovative front office and coaches.
