Pretty good job to be honest, but you will need to figure out the QB situation, along with completely building the team from the ground up, with a few nice pieces thrown in the mix in Luke, CMC, Burns, Moore.

I'd probably put us and JAX out there as the most desirable for me, if I were the one looking, JAX leading by a smidge.

Doing a little research today and learned this.

When Greg Roman initially started working for the Panthers, he was unpaid.

Guess working for the team was fairly attractive to him back then.

Of course, he's no longer a kid fresh out of college so I think this time they'd have to pay him

Yeah the upside is you get generational talents at running back, MLB and up and coming young players at receiver and pass rusher to build around and very little against your salary cap beyond next season, so a pretty clean slate to build from.

The downside is the most important position by far is a huge question mark, but to be fair this is more often than not the case for new coaches because coaches with solid performing quarterbacks tend not to get themselves fired.

Personally I will be kind of annoyed if we wind up letting Bradberry walk and he could have been retained for something approximating his value, since he's a talented young player coming into his own who has proven his mettle against arguably the toughest WR division in football, we have many other holes on our roster, and talent at his position does not grow on trees.

I guess the quarterback thing is a matter of perspective.

If you want a settled situation (something Josh McDaniels is rumored to want) then it's a negative.

If you'd like to be able to select "your guy" and build a dynasty together with him though, then yeah it's wide open.

4-5 teams with higher win percentage may be coach shopping also.

It's funny that we have the highest win percentage among the NFCS rivals.

Tepper unless he had a candidate in the bag already has a very tough job to find the right coach. This will make or break the franchise.

I hope Josh McDaniels waits until his wang falls off from old age for a coaching gig with an established qb to come open and offer him the job. How many times can you recall this happening (coach fired with a proven qb on the roster)?

If you want to be able to select your guy, I have to think that a team higher in the draft order would be your preference. Not saying that you can't find franchise QBs in the mid-1st round or later because you certainly can, but the odds are definitely against you getting "your guy" there.

This is one of the many scenarios that I dislike because I think coach and FO interests are not aligned with overall team and fan interests. Very often in this type situation, these coaches and GM's trade up in the draft to get "their guy", spending valuable extra draft capital to placate their own personal desires and then more often than not said prospect does not come anywhere near justifying the cost in resources, yet the same coaches and GM's will then trot out any number of bs excuses to keep from being held accountable for the failure of their decisions.

When Hurney and Fox began to trade future 1st rounders to draft guys in the present I pretty much went through the roof. Those deals served their own personal agendas, not the teams, and in hindsight clearly were awful moves.

On the other hand Green Bay stood pat one year and look who fell into their lap cause they refused to panic. There's your mid round franchise qb for you, Pro Bowl caliber to boot, at no extra cost.

Yup.  Bad roster ready to be built from the ground up with a sprinkle of some very talented players in there.

I think the roster and QB situations could be good or bad depending on the GM and HC hire.

Personally, were I to be interviewed, the GM would be one of the most important pieces for me...that and a good owner.  If both of those boxes were check marks, then you look to the other pieces, but they wouldn't be nearly as important to me.
