If Perry hopes for anything more than interim in his title he won't abdicate defensive play calling duties to Washington.

He has the whole team to be concerned with. There is more to him being a viable HC than just making the defense play better. He has to lead the staff and players to follow a plan.

Based on what?

Their crappy play.  It looks an awful lot like the crap performances they put up under his direction last year.  And given Ron's stubbornness to prove a point it would not surprise me at all to find out that it was Washington all along.

Sea Hags 27 Panthers 10

Dolts 24 Panthers 20

.......and if the have to play for home field in the playoffs...

Saints 31 Panthers 10

......or if they get to rest their players...

Of course it is speculation but he is the defensive coordinator so it's not much of a stretch to say he is probably calling the plays.  Especially the way they have performed all season.  But I'm not going to argue with you about it if that's what you want.  If it was Ron calling the plays then prepare to see much much worse going forward.

Fewell may want to actually call the defensive plays to showcase his skills. Defense is his specialty. Unfortunately our defensive line is going to be hard to hide. I’m really curious to see what Scott can do with our offense. He is a young offensive minded coach who has been around football his whole life.
