Ray Lewis was pretty open about talking about his dislike of playing in a 3-4 scheme after playing most of his career in a 4-3. He felt like it stifled his ability to roam the field making plays and he spent more of his time taking on blockers.

Yeah, I remember that. They put him back in a 4-3 behind Siragusa and another mountain (I forget who) and he was happy and productive again.

 Have said that all along. Ron is a standup guy but the team has declined since 2015. Changes should have been made but he and Hurney stood pat

And he's suffered many blows to the head and has other opportunities in life, I doubt he plays until his late 30s

If we're rebuilding from scratch, we can't center it around Kuechly in his 30s

As much we we all love him and what he's meant for this franchise, we should probably be looking to trade him to a team he can win a Superbowl with, and get some draft picks.  People are comfortable saying this about Cam Newton, but when it comes to Luke, suddenly it's heresy.

Yep, another reason why this is not going to end well with Tepper dipping his hands in everything. Bottom line is Ron and him didn’t see eye to eye. Tepper tells Rob to switch to the 3-4 and Ron tells Tepper he doesn’t know what he is talking about. This all mounts to the “personality conflict” that has been brought up. 
 

You’re telling me that Ron thought Luke was a 3-4 linebacker. 
 

Tepper comes from Pittsburgh where the 3-4 is king.

I expect some of these clowns to repeat the "ron held cam back" nonsense, but its kinda strange hearing it from you. We literally ran a rpo college offense to put cam in the best position to win. If anyome "held cam back" it is the gms who nevwr got him an oline.

They need to find a few big bodies and go back to the 4-3 on a permanent basis. Start with the draft and bring in a stout FA or two to rebuild the line.

The Rivera experiment didn't work and we need to go back to what did. Luke has still got it and we need to put him back in a position to play like he is capable of.

This 3-4 scheme needs to end ASAP and go back to being the stout defense that they where known for....and give Luke back the reigns.

 

Anybody who understands NFL defenses, know linebacker play is 100% dependent on good defensive line play  our defensive tackle situation this year has sucked due to injury, and players not playing their gaps. 

The scheme has nothing to do with it.

We mostly played 4-3 this year so the 3-4 thing shouldn't be an issue the fact is since his concussions he's slowly regressed.  Not have a stud Dt hasn't done him any good he can't get of blocks and his pass defense when playing zone seems like he doesn't get deep enough on throws to middle.
