Give Us Will

I was sitting at my desk one Monday morning and found myself talking about football with 3 ladies. (Which I thought was kinda awesome.) Not only am I on the clock... but I'm talking about football, with women. And we won! Kyle Allen had, despite his 3 fumbles found a way not to cost us the game. In my Rivera speech: "Kyle did some very nice things out there." The most notable was dodging JJ. Watt to find a wide open Jairus Wright to set up the game winning field goal. Panther fans were pretty hype about that.

A few weeks go by and Kyle had not really cost us any games. I'm pretty stoked about his performance. But I noticed that their praise of Kyle also brought an equidistant condemnation of Cam. And the better Kyle did, the worst they talked about Cam. Of course it was all of the normal Cam- Slander. (The clothes. The confidence.) Of course I brought up all of the things that Cam does in the community, how respected he is in the league and how even though I dont care for his taste in clothing, it really has nothing to do with his ability to play football. Why did rooting for Kyle mean rooting against Cam?

Of course they stopped coming by my desk as Kyle's progress began to regress and the losses began to pile up.

I noticed that they didnt wanna talk about how Christian McMVP has cooled off or how Luke is not the same dominant player he once was. Because that didn't fit the narrative.

So I'm here for the shenanigans. I wont forget how this fanbase made Will Grier the anointed one. I wont forget how they were trying to run a guy out of town who put his body on the line week in and week out.

I've been a Panther fan since Jerry Richardson announced a team was coming to the Carolinas. Cam has been the best QB has ever had and has been treated like the worst.

But here's the thing. I want Will Grier to do well. Because I'm a Panther fan. I want him to succeed. Because I'm a Panther fan. THIS is the time to put him in and see what he has. Tepper. This is what the people want. And what they need. So Give us Will.

Because these people know a whole hell of alot about double standards. They dont know poo about football.

All this Will Grier stuff is mostly fans wanting to see him. Fans who have no clue as to how he is doing in practice and meetings. He looks good in his nice clean uniform on the sidelines holding that clipboard, that is about what people that are not insiders know.

Whoever said they want to see how bad he sucks, nice. He probably would suck, but in 2021 maybe not. But almost certainly so, if you ruin him now.

You draft him thinking you have a healthy Cam Newton along with Allen and can bring him along slowly. Was I a fan of the pick? Not much. But I understand the thinking. You have to hope.

We currently have the worst offensive line we have had that I can remember, and I know who Byron Bell is. If you disagree, don't bog this down. It isn't a big difference.

I think he'd have to be tearing it up during the week to consider it but that ain't 7 on 7 on Sunday. Be smart about something.

Just a reminder we still have  zero clue if he will be a great , good, bad, or terrible nfl QB. Zero.

True which is why Carolina needs to see how he performs in game so they can evaluate him this offseason and determine whether they need to draft another QB high in the draft.
