God, everyone is so EMO today! Rivera wasn't ever going to get it done here. He'd gotten complacent and so had his players. Tepper was right to pull the trigger now so that everything is done in the open. The fact that Rivera may be a hot commodity for other teams speaks the the dearth of new and innovative coaching talent in the NFL more than it does to the Panthers not appreciating what they had.

I hate this mentality. It’s wrong on so many levels. Ron absolutely had what it takes to get it done. He led the team to win 3 consecutive division titles, and also to a NFL top team in 2015- 15-1 and Super Bowl appearance. He’s a hot stock because most other teams will see the value in what he accomplished here.

it doesn’t mean Tepper was wrong to let him go, I was a proponent of keeping Rivera. But I also know change is necessary as a matter of fact at times. Change is good, even when that means letting someone good go, so you can explore other options to drive the team in a different direction.

I do really hate the attitude that disrespects what Ron has accomplished here, and sweeps his successes under the rug in favor of trash talking the man.

You can hate it all you want. Those are your feelings. I didn't disrespect Rivera, I'm just not going to cry about us moving on like some huge mistake was made. He couldn't get it done in nine seasons. It's time to give someone else a try.

No - YOU got what YOU wanted.   Don't speak for me.

Zod mentions in his article that it sends a message to the entire organization... which will work for short term but I can't see it building any loyalty.  What message do you think Cam, Luke, and Christian receive???  "oh wow - they just fired our coach mid season".   You would be delusional if you think they are going to try harder.

My view of the roster is pretty bleak, I'm not going to lie, others here don't agree with me.

I'm ready for a rebuild, just hoping that we can get the right pieces in place to see it through.  That is my only concern.

i have tried to tell y’all for a while that this roster was full of poo.  It’s gonna be a rough few years, but you can do like I have for the last 3 years, don’t watch.

The whole notion that any change is better than the status quo is pretty ignorant. If you don't think things can get worse talk to a Miami fan or Cincinnati. I agree it was time for a change but any change and blowing it up are pretty naive.

Who can predict what changes brings? Who the fug in here said they wanted change for the worse? We just wanted change period because things have soured.

It's what a certain group on this forum do.

Maybe it's the ESPN'ing of the fans....draft grades an hour after, winning the offseason, loving every big named trade or signing....

Team and players name is called in the draft....fans run to YouTube type said players name and the word highlight behind it, and convince themselves that this player is going to be great.

It's pretty premature to be making definitive judgements on both those drafts.

Again change can be good or bad. Change in itself is inevitable but managed well results in a steady course that can be predicted. The idea that change no matter the result is desirable is exactly what people have said in this thread and that in my opinion is ignorant and reckless. And that outcome is rarely positive.

As a season ticket holder, he disrespected me and others being a laughing stock against the 49ers, and those mighty falcons and redskins Plus others and that’s just this year

ron, since 2015 was on the wrong side of embarrassing losses, many on National Tv and started grasping for straws

his teams were soft  very soft mentally and physically   Hit them once, they folded

if only at your job, you didn’t succeed for 3 or 4 years and still got paid   I but you had accomplishments at your job too...could you ride those for 3 or 4 years?

This op gets it. It is hilarious how many think rivera was "holding cam back" or whatever. And that bill belichek is co.ing to coach us and cam to the superbowl next year... lol. Cam isnt even going to be here, and we could go through a 1/2 dozen coaches before we even find one as good as ron, much less better than him.

This tebuild will seperate the true panthers fans from the cam bandwagon.

Most of you guys engage in loser talk and have a loser mentality. "Maaan we're gonna lose and lose and lose until we magically, from all that losing become victorious."

Instability isn't winning jack in the NFL and with all you idiots thinking some "new" "young" "innovative" coach would actually hold up in the NFL for any amount of time shows that you don't pay attention to WHO wins SuperBowls. THAT isn't the model.

The same chuckleheads are going to be mad and ready to fire everybody when that college coach isn't winning in the NFL.
