Can we rebuild quickly without the 20 million cap savings?

in the 25 year history of the panthers how many franchise QBs have we had? why the hell are yall so willing to give up on the one we have now?

Who is running him out of town?

We are discussing options that Cam and the team has.  I don't see any pitchforks, but I do see a lot of speculation.

IMO only baseball movies are fun to watch because they boil it down to the bits where something happens.

I have never really watched baseball, just played it from 5-18 y/o. I think the only World Series I ever watched was Red Sox Mets in the 80s.  I was like 13 and the first time I ever bet on anything.

otherwise I can’t watch baseball.

i was totally depressed about 0-16 next year.

it won't take magic, lisa frank surgeries don't take that long to recover from, and his shoulder has had this full season of rest. i think it's likely he's healthy and prime shape next year.

We’ll see. His shoulder looks shot like a pitcher who has thrown too many pitches...

Yup.  Degenerative conditions just don't go away.  He has an arthritic shoulder that likely can't hold up to the rigors of football.  Any other position, and he may be OK to continue, but not at QB.

I really hope I'm wrong about this, but it's 100% what I feel is going on.

I also hope you’re wrong but fear you may be right. I know he would probably never do it, but if his shoulder was the only thing holding him back I’d still take him at say TE. The guy is an otherworldly athlete with a positive team oriented attitude. If his body leaves him any way to contribute, why would you not want a guy like that in your huddle?

Try hockey....they kick ass and will take names.

At this rate I might.

in reality I’m thinking we hire Greg Roman Or Mike McCarthy and we go to the Super Bowl next year.

mike resurged Brett Favre to an NFC game then playoffs and Super Bowl with Aaron Rodgers before he was Aaron Rodgers

Greg has a lot of experience working with play action quarterbacks.

I think with most other hires we are in for a long long long rebuild and possibly firing in between. No one intends to be a Browns Or Lions but it just happens when you start  getting cute with hires

Yeah, but a side effect of lisa frank surgery is that your skin turns a neon, multi-colored hue, often with leopard spots. Weird.

I only bring this up because of the NFL's strict uniform rules...

Pay cut, learning a new position at 30+, having other interests off field, having more than enough money in his account, his body is already broken, etc....

There are a LOT of reasons that Cam wouldn't want to switch positions.  Just isn't going to happen.

End of the day, I just see very little chance that he plays for us again.

What reality do you live in?

Do you really believe this team is a coach away from a Super Bowl?

Here is the notice.

Honestly, what exactly makes you think that Cam will play another snap here?

There are a lot more arrows pointing to no vs. yes.

He's publicly said that he wants to remain here.

I have a pretty good hunch that, despite public appearances, Cam was pretty discontent with Ron, Norv, and a lot of things going on inside the organization. I may be off a little, but not far IDT.

Cam is a competitor that will want to prove his value to his haters. He's also a team guy, despite what people will make of certain things.

Tepper isn't dumb. He realizes that Cam is our franchise QB. He also realizes that he and the Panthers hold a lot of leverage right now contractually over Cam and his injury situation.

It'd be nice for Cam to have already have an extension, but the injuries have made that not happen. It could still be done before next year, but I think the Panthers will be cautious to see how he truly bounces back.

If he's still here, has the opportunity to earn it all back, and proves he can, then I expect everyone involved will be happy. If he can't prove to himself or anyone else that he can continue to be a franchise QB for the Panthers, then I expect we'll all move on, one way or another.
