Can we rebuild quickly without the 20 million cap savings?

To answer your question, yes, we can rebuild somewhat quickly (2-3 years) keeping Cam's 20M price tag.

However, that price tag is only that for 1 year, then he would either prove to be healthy and would command MUCH more than 20M, or he wouldn't be able to stay healthy and we wouldn't extend him.

At the end of the day, I'm just not sure that Cam will want to go through an rebuild, and I'm not sure I want to see him have to do that.  In fact, I'm about in the boat to trade Luke if you can snag a 1st for him.

I agree to an extent, but not even that IMHO.

If they can all get and stay healthy, we should keep Moton, Daley, Turner, Little, and Paradis around.

I'm not as low on Paradis as some are. He doesn't have a lot of help around him tbqh. Turner isn't playing great either, but he's shown he can.

If we can fill in the gaps and get them all healthy, I think we'll see a lot of improvement on that side. Throw a couple GOOD FA guys on the OL, maybe draft another, and we're in really good shape.

On the DL, I think we're in worse shape. A lot of FAs to either bring back or replace. I'd try to get McCoy and Addison back for vet cheap (maybe let them test the market,) bring Love and Horton back. Maybe give Vern a new deal. Get KK healthy and restructured (more money to spend on his help) and draft a couple good DLs early and I think we'll be okay.

We have major questions at QB and TE, and we have some issues at WR and LB.

This team is in pretty bad shape currently.

It doesn't have to be long term. Give me guys that'll be here for 1-2 more years, and I'll work on having their replacements in order.

Very few players under contract beyond next season and most that are are on cheap rookie deals. Cap flexibility should be the FO’s main asset in a year if they are shrewd.

I am thinking that a lot of people are going to be pretty surprised when they see how the scouts differ pretty widely on Burrow. He is far from a lock to be the #1 overall pick.

As of right now, I'm not sold on him at all.

Our QB of the future is Cam Newton until further notice.

If we replace him with a new QB of the future, it'll be in the 2021 offseason or later.

Not sure I follow?

What I'm saying, is that sitting here today, at this very instant, we have very little signed long term to build around.  We don't know what other teams are going to offer.  We don't know if the new coach's scheme will fit with any of our players.

Our two pieces signed long term on the D and O line are Trai and KK, both either under performing or coming off injury, and both very expensive.

This team is not put together well.

if you were Cam, why would you risk playing for a new coach on a rebuilding team on a 1 year contract?  

If the Panthers aren't extending him he won't be on the team next year I don't think.  Unless he feels a huge loyalty to the team, which I kind of doubt (no knock on Cam here, he has given the team everything, but we just fired his coach...)

Honestly, what exactly makes you think that Cam will play another snap here?

There are a lot more arrows pointing to no vs. yes.

      I don’t watch Hornets games cuz I am out of market.. not about to pay for this mess.. been a fan since they were born….my post is about it’s the only NBA game on and no network National is showing it or did.. I luv Luka… and almost want to be a Laker fan now. .so you would think they would show it.. it’s just embarrassing we can’t get a free game to watch.. this is the end of my Rant !
