I'd be shocked if the end of the Newton era wasn't  in September.

I think if we don’t draft a qb round 1 they will bring him back to see where he is health wise. That’s also if he wants to play without another deal. Like I said. A ton of variables.

none of us know what the dr said.  we only know what was said after he went to the dr.   the dr can't come out and say 'actually i think surgery is his best option, but not the only possible one'       if he's decided to get surgery then its pretty much guaranteed that's what the dr said.

Not to trying to start anything but you just said that none of us know what the doctor said then you come back with “it’s pretty much guaranteed that’s what the dr said”

If it were up to me... I'm trading Cam for as many picks as I can get and using that capital to move up in the draft and get a QB.

Dont Kemba Walker this situation.  Get what you can, while you can and build from there.

Teams won’t get a lot for Cam coming off surgery with two years of being IR’ed.

I think the draft is going to tell us a lot

Per source, Cam Newton will have a “relatively simple” procedure on Lisfranc area in his left foot. That could bode well for a shorter recovery time. @tiffblackmon was first to report the surgery - which, in the very beginning of all of this, Newton had hoped to avoid.

The only way we find the next true franchise is by drafting him this upcoming draft. I’m not sure if that’s going to be possible where we draft. There isn’t someone out there we can sign to be that guy.

if panthers draft a qb round one. It’s the end of the Newton era.

Since we are rebuilding. I wouldnt mind trading one of our players for a pick or as a package to be able to move up and get burrow.

It's media outlets, and casuals that feed that narrative of have the surgery immediately even if medical PROFESSIONALS are advising this has the opportunity to heal on it's own, and that surgery is the last resort to repair the injury.

Being the recipient of multiple invasive back (cervical and lumbar) and elbow surgeries, I can give those who have never had an invasive surgery performed on them this piece of advice:

It sucks.

IT SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS.

(Again, I'm referring to invasive surgery where they open you up, dig in, look around, scrape, snip, and remove.  I've never experienced arthroscopic surgery and can't comment on that.)

Every time I had to go step by step and through other treatments (medications, shots, physical therapy) trying to heal the condition prior to considering surgery.  Unfortunately, each time the condition continued to deteriorate, ultimately requiring the surgery anyway.

But my experience with surgery is this: It sucks.  And if I don't have to have it done, I won't have it done.  Why?  Because it fugging sucks.

Same.

Cam has played this perfectly to secure his pass out of Charlotte.  If he really wanted to play here next season, he was his own worst enemy by putting off surgery.

Unfortunately, this team completely mismanaged a truly special player.
