You're acting like it's a sure thing. There were people not sold on his transition to the NFL prior to the major hip injury. Tua has now had lingering ankle and knee injuries and now a major hip injury while in college. He has huge medical red flags. This is the type of draft pick that gets GMs fired when the issue that was well known to everyone continues to be an issue that significantly costs the team going forward.

i just don't think this is the case anymore.   if you miss on a qb you can draft one 2 years later, or the very next year with no real cap penalty.   it used to be the case.  f'n luckiest dude in the world ever, sam bradford, was the last qb that was the case for

Waiting for those two seasons is a pretty significant cost in and of itself.

I doubt if anyone in NFL history has ever been able to bank money like he did over the course of his career while being a thoroughly average football player.

This is accurate.  10 years ago you wouldn't have seen the Rosen/Murray situation.

Just no way in hell, now it's different.  You take one at 15, don't like him, trade him or cut him...very little harm.  But if you don't take that guy, and end up with a Safety instead, and that QB goes off....well good chance your days are numbered.

Bengals passed on Watson and Mahommes to snag John Ross........

If you are in position to take one, you do.  Packers couldn't even pass that chance up with a HOF'er on the roster.

Hey now, you can't blame them for that when they had Andy Dal...Ya know what? I can't say that with a straight face :)

I mean, that's a tough pill to swallow, to know you passed on those two guys because you had the Red Rifle under contract.

Ask yourself why this didn't happen a month ago.

I'm really not being a douche by asking this, I think I'm just tired, are you implying that Rivera was the primary reason he wasn't getting surgery

Or

That cam has no intention of being a Panther anymore now that rivera is gone and knows he won't be healthy by teppers deadline

Some folks think the timing of Newton's announcement had a purpose, or was meant to send a message.

Me? Don't know. It's possible, I suppose but I couldn't say for sure.

I'm confused what message that would be lol
