I hear you. I'm pretty sure they only went to 1 superbowl though. And is hard to discern how much of their success was due to him and how much was due to having the most talented QB in history and playing a poor division. But you're right in that he was unquestionably successful.

I don’t want to get into an Aaron Rodgers debate but I think he’s far far far from the most talented quarterback in history. Personally I think he chokes a lot under pressure.   I think the media picked him out as their golden boy—  they tried to move on to Andrew Luck but he snubbed them,..

notice right now the flavors of the moment have gone from Russell Patrick Mahomes to Lamar Jackson(and possibly back to Russell)

as far as Mike—  sure, he had Brett Favre followed by Aaron. Everyone else should be so lucky.

the other questions could be: How much of their failure to win more is on Aaron?

its always tough to ask those questions.

Bill Belicheck has the perfect storm of a quarterback that does what is asked and the way Bill needs him to, when he needs him to.

no one else has that really. Eli had that somewhat with Tom Coughlin I suppose.

I wouldn't mind this at all.  The Panthers have talent and are not in full rebuild mode despite what many say here.  There are few people that walk this planet that are cut out to be a NFL coach and going the college and/or coordinator route is very risky.  Most fail and you occasionally hit on one.

People here didn't want Andy Reid so keep that in mind.

btw mccarthy got figured out.   his route concepts were talked about ad nauseam as simple and outdated, and that they just ran the same ones over and over.   he either didn't care, like some reports came out, or wasn't capable.   he is everything we've been complaining about.  no thanks.

Don't think he looks like that.

A tad crazy, though...

btw, spurrier was the only other coach i've ever heard say he didn't need to put in super long hours.   was gonna put it in other thread but got busy

It's not widely talked about, but Spurrier interviewed here before taking the Redskins job.

Reports said the interview was a disaster.
