speaks to his character (or lack thereof)

Yes. Anyone who fails to...do what exactly?..in reaction to non criminal sexual harrassment on the part of their employer and the company owner that they are aware of is certainly of low character. For all you or I know, Ron was deposed as a witness in those same sexual harrassment cases on behalf of the victim's complaints. Such things would not be, nor should they be, public. This is just you trying to stir the pot pointlessly at his exit.

JR is no longer owner. Those cases have all been settled. They are a private matter and should stay that way. Ron is no longer our coach. As of now the question is entirely irrelevant to the team.

Spoke to a former staff member on that topic. His take was that Ron Rivera could very easily not have known about Richardson's issues. The football operations and business operations departments of the Panthers are on opposite sides of BOA and rarely intermingle.

With regard to Marty though, he believed Marty had to know. Hurney and Richardson were together on a daily basis for hours at a time. Richardson considered Hurney his best friend and was fully comfortable around him.

For what it's worth...

If he wants it, cool. I still think it's a sh-tty idea.

I think it is Ron's idea. I'm pretty sure it isn't standard operating procedure for a freshly fired coach to hold a press conference. I also still hate the idea though. I don't want to hear from Ron, and it's just weird to me.

It may be. I just don't like it. I think it's undignified to have him stand up there and discuss his own dismissal.

Ron may not be a great heat head coach, but he is a good man. And he deserves better than this.

You don't get it.

Ron wants to have the presser....if he didn't, he wouldn't.

Wake up pal.

I feel reasonably confident that tommorrow's presser will be very short on discussing his dismissal and long on reflecting on his time here and thanking people in the organization.
