Hurney is one of the best college talent evaluators around and I don’t want to lose that

People on here are blind or ignorant. Hurney is good at drafting. No GM ever hits on 100% of his picks. 90% of them don't have Hurney's track record of drafting stars either though.

They're still stuck in their fantasy land where it was preferable for Gettleman to bust in the 1st round (like most GMs to be honest) because he would occasionally sign a veteran like Kurt Coleman to make up for it.

Hurney is right behind Ozzie Newsome as the most consistent and reliable drafter of high end, pro bowl talent, of any general manager of this era.

People can't get over first impressions.  Gettleman talked tough and displayed a persona that was more in line with what they imagine a general manager to be from a movie, whereas Hurney was more mild mannered and had a background in journalism.  Once they had formed these initial impressions, their confirmation bias twisted all the data to form really skewed perspectives.

The I hope Tepper makes that clear.I would hate it if there was a cock fighting going on in the FO because Hurney thinks he is a God in the draft on top of formally having the GM tag that he can dismiss the VP/assist GM.

Job titles in the NFL can mean whatever you want them to mean.

Heck, even if Hurney kept the official "GM" title, his job description in that role can still be limited to overseeing college scouting.

And again, I would not have a single issue with this.

Hurney will be fired right after the moment he makes our 1st overall selection in 2021.

Will he

He'll draft Lawerence with the #1 pick and we'll all hear how great drafter again.  And Tepper will probably give him a 25 year extension

You’re high as a kite if you think his teams have been consistent winners....

Hurney has done really well the past two years even beyond round 1. Also: Cam, Luke, DJ, and Burns. Pretty sure that’s 2 potential hall of famers, a guy who is top 5 in the league at his position in his second year, and another guy who was looking like DROTY prior to injuring his wrist. Not a bad core to build from.

Tepper is a good judge of abilities and Hurney does great in the draft. Those who criticize his middle or later round picks need to consider how often any GM consistently hits on these. The bust rate after the third round is high across the league for any position.  How well Hurney does in other aspects of his job I wouldn't have a clue. Tepper seems to have a grasp on what he wants. I hope whatever happens is for the best and not just in the distant future. I don't know know how many more losing seasons I can keep paying all that money to routinely walk out of the stadium angry and disappointed after another loss. I want to win now. Good luck getting money for a new stadium if the product on the field sucks. Without PSLs in your new stadium good luck filling 65 thousand seats at premium prices.
