What does a GM do when the VP of Football Operations is above them?

I'm no fan of Hurney, but one when you bring in new leadership, it can be helpful to have someone with some institutional knowledge and history. Hurney could provide that.

tbf promoting someone is kind of the corporate way to fire someone nicely

like give them a new role, a new office, and absolutely no responsibility.
