I'm furious at Tepper for humiliating Rivera and his family by firing him mid-season

Ron deserved better for being turned into a national laughingstock by being fired on his day off with 4 games left in the season. After all he's done for this organization, they just threw him out with the trash.

He was given chances. This is the life of a coach. I’m a wrestling coach. The community supports me and my family in so many amazing ways. They’re our friends, neighbors, coworkers. However, I’m fully aware the moment I have consecutive failing seasons I would be on the out. There is no hiding in the world of a coach. Tepper didn’t make him lose to a (2-9) Washington; which is already a national embarrassment for the entire program.

Rivera has made more money than I’ll make in my entire life, if I die again and am reborn into the same profession, then I’d still have to die again be reborn again and spend my 3rd lifetime trying to reach what he has been paid by this organization. He’ll be okay.

Is this a real post OP or a troll post? I am so confused about why someone would have this opinion.

Because firing coaches mid season is the stuff that trash organizations do... like the raiders and browns. Shoulda waited until black monday.

Lmao, rom gets paid the next 4 games, he gets to rest at home, and cleveland knows who their next coach will be.

for the panthers we get started early on hc search. No problems here

Cant imagine RR coaching those Characters with his 1988 brand of FB

Yea 20 different teams have fired coaches before the season was over

Why are people acting like this is brand new

He'll be on fox or CBS and make some smart remark that will generate 100 threads when the Panthers lose

None of us regular Joe’s get any sort of cutoff date when we get fired. We poo the bed and we get let go. Ron seems like a great guy and will be respected by this franchise for all time, but I don’t think it’s disrespectful that he got let go now.

Dude only produced 3 top 10 defenses in his tenure in Carolina. Coincidentally they were the only three good years we had. Three winning seasons in nine years is awful. Rivera by all accounts is a great guy but he isn't the right leader for the Carolina Panthers. We have to accept there is an intelligent business side to football and this is the correct move.

It wasn't a "day off".

#FakeNews

If it makes you feel any better Ron is only 12-games into a 32-game contract that will pay him $15,500,000 in aggregate....or, $484,375 per game for those of you keeping score at home.

As such, Ron will be paid $1,937,500 for not coaching the next 4 games.

Then he will be paid $7,750,000 for not coaching any games next year.

Lotsa folks would loooove to be thrown "out with the trash" like that....lol.

Funny quote from when Ron was extended:

"This is the first big move for Tina Becker, the [chief operating officer] who has taken over for Jerry Richardson," Rapoport said Saturday on Good Morning Football Weekend.

What a freaking joke that was!  Big Golden Kiss from Ol' Jer' to Ol' Rowboat!  The compliant CLT press was at their lowest point while buying into and reporting as fact The Ruse floated out there by The Big Cat saying Tina Becker was in charge...SMH....complete f'g joke.

I don't have or use twitter but if its like that there then rofl. Must be on the dolts who tell people at a football to sit down while they enjoy their cocktail and leave at halftime. All the while cheering while our offense is on the field.

The fact that people are actually upset about this shows how terrible sports culture is in Charlotte.   This is a step in the right direction.    Ron made millions coaching here, it's a business decision, and if he was surprised by this after the last few years then he's even more clueless than I thought.     He'll get a job fast for a team that is bad or rebuilding and needs someone to just stabalize it (but not expect much else).      That or he'll go back to a DC where he's better suited.    Like others said, he's basically John Fox.
