How patient will the fans be?

Ron is gone. Wish him the best and he will be a HC again very soon in this league. Class guy and a good man.

How patient will this fan base be now that he is gone? Could you handle losing seasons for 2 years....3 years....5 years (or more) as the rebuild starts?

It may not be pretty for quite some time. Change is inevitable...we will see what lies ahead. You all ready for the unknown...wat u got?

I want to see competitive football immediately. Not trying to look like the Bucs and Lions out here and be meh with no sense of potential.

We have the players to at least not look stupid and that's all I ask next year.

Dont make us look stupid for believing in the team these last few years especially.

I will try and hold my absolute hatred for Hurney until after the draft, and that will take a lot of work. The new HC should get constructive criticism along with a lot patients. The Josh McD is a scary  scenario and I wouldn't think a guy like that is going to get 3 or 4 years before complete riots.

Let this sink in, when the new guy messes up there is an actual chance he will learn from it and may improve...that is something that is hard to truly comprehend after years of same old same old.

If Newton is retained and can perform, might be a lot quicker than you think

fix the lines

good coaching

those three things are not hard to achieve

if Newton doesn’t return, all bets off there

If you think the success of this team rests solely on the return of Cam Newton, you're in for a shock.

That being said, those who have been calling for Rivera's head for three years should be ready to wait for change to be effected. You can fire the coach today, but his staff remains. You can fire Hurney tomorrow, but the players he hired remain.

Consistency isn't overnight- this is gonna take a couple years.

A rebuilding phase should take no more than 3 years, if you have a competent GM, and not an anchor of a crap salary cap situation weighing you down.

We are in pretty good shape on the cap, bad shape on the roster, and awful shape at GM currently.

2 of those can change fairly quickly though....1 will take some time.

Hi.

Welcome to the internet.

Patience here is not measured in years, but nanoseconds.

To determine a given poster's patience level, take their average attention span in reading posts and divide by...

#$%^ I'm losing you aren't I?

tl:dr version What is this patience thing of which you speak?

    • In the past 7 years we wouldn’t have had to TBH. We would have been better off realizing we lost Cam, Luke and many others. It was time to do an actual rebuild and save the cap space so we could keep our “good” (huddle consensus) draft picks like extending Trey Smith and Creed Humphrey instead of having cap space to burn since the long snapper and TMJ didn’t work out. Also, have enough cap space to keep some offensive weapons like CMC and Moore because we don’t have to trade up for a QB or didn’t have to “recover” picks lost in poo trades. One other note here is that, the consensus huddle would have jumped at the chance to get two 1sts and a 2nd for Burns. That alone would have been the best FA/trade move made in the history of the Panthers. It is 100% indisputable fact that a huddle consensus GM, from 2018 to 2024, would have done way better and we’d have a playoff contender right now. Maybe not a SB/NFC winning team but likely the best team in the NFC South rather than a hey we lost close games to the teams in the SB even though our D set a single season points allowed record.
