I hope so, but the wording really leans towards Hurney staying

Gantt is right, though. It's not exactly a ringing endorsement even if he does.

That VP of Player Personnel position could wind up being the guy with final say.  Or it could be a transitional spot for Hurney and someone else gets the GM job.

A lot is still fluid at this point, especially with Kevin Colbert's status in Pittsburgh up in the air.

Here you go Huddle . . . you got what you wanted.  Personally, I think this is a bush league move to fire Ron during the season.

As opposed to dangle him?  Once a guy knows it and you know it, just make it happen.

It's not like he's hard off. Dude could retire now and never work again due to interest.

My guess is Hurney is let go after the season is over.  If so, very interesting that Ron is shown the door during the season but Hurney gets the respect and allowed to finish the season.

I think this is a mistake.  Why not at least let him coach out his contract in a year that doesn't see double digit players out to injury?  What's even gained by firing him with 4 games to go?

Honestly this comes off like a tantrum reaction, and doesn't reflect well on ownership's temperament.

Also, firing Rivera while keeping Hurney is just idiotic.

See it a different way. It also gives Ron

1. A chance an opening quicker than others if he wants it

2. Tepper said he had too much respect for rivera to do things behind his back

what Tepper did took courage, honesty, decisiveness  and he didn’t leave Ron to twist in the wind   I respect it
