Panthers part ways with Rivera

What a clown. For some guys, it's more important to have your guy than the right guy. Ron was the winningest coach we've had in our short history. I posted here before about how my other team (ECU Pirates) pretty much did the same thing back in 2015. They fired a good coach in a year where he lost his QB and turned in a bad season. The Pirates still haven't gotten back to the record (5-7) that got that coach fired. 

I can't stand both my teams being dumpster fires, and am not looking forward to watching my cats go 4-12 for the next 10 years like the rest of the teams that cycle through coaches. 

This is total Bullsh**. Rant complete.

Rivera won 2 coach of the year awards based on his "Save my job, Cam!" strategy. as soon as Cam was injured and unable to, the inevitable happened.

Rivera had his missed opportunity .  Everybody working for a job next year .  Tepper can now put his stamp on his team . Rivera will no doubt land a job if he wants to  or retire rich .

Rivera was a very good coach (not elite) and I can easily see him winning again with a good GM to set him up for success.

IMHO Marty Hurney is the biggest issue with the Carolina Panthers failure to win.

Not that I didn't expect this to happen, but I was totally surprised when I saw this thread that it happened before the end of the season.  But regardless, he needed to go.  Had it not been for being gifted Cam Newton, I'm not sure he would have ever had a winning season.

i don't know if our famously good locker room was influenced by Ron or if it was just a lucky combination of Cam, Charles Johnson, TD,  Olsen, etc. if Ron had an influence in that regard he would be invaluable to a team that has mentality issues as much as play issues

Too bad it had to end like this. Had issues with Ron Rivera the coach but none as the man. Certainly could be someone else's D coordinator and find success.
