I'm not a fan of retreads, but it is fair to note that guys like Marv Levy and Bill Belichick didn't exactly light It up in their first head coaching jobs either.

Plus McDaniels was working under Elway before. Maybe working under Nick Caserio or Kevin Colbert makes a difference.

Not my first choice either, but who knows?

McDaniels didn't work under Elway. Elway coming in was part of the entire organization clean sweep I was talking about. Virtually everyone in the front office got flushed with McDaniels.

Ah, gotcha. I was thinking they came in at the same time.

Principle still applies though...

You just had to be here getting the news about it daily. It wasn't about wins and losses as much as it was about the entire organization running like a clown car and McDaniels was at the epicenter.

So now we've got buzz about Kevin Colbert that's coming out of Pittsburgh and buzz about Nick Caserio and Josh McDaniels that's coming out of Foxboro.

This offseason is shaping up to be really interesting.

Whats the buzz about Colbert out of Pitt?

After that stunt McDaniels pulled in Indianapolis, I didn't think he'd be getting another head coaching look for a while.

Sure as heck didn't think that it might happen with us.

But you know, stranger things...

There have been rumors that McDaniel's has been told he is the heir apparent to Belichick and I believe Bill had previously said he didn't want to coach forever. Belichick recently made a comment about continuing longer than he originally anticipated because he still feels good at his age. Maybe that changed McDaniels thoughts on sticking around Foxboro.
