By the way, maybe he’s learned from the master. He wasn’t created by Bill so maybe he took his OC/failed HC gig and got better.

The Belichick coaching tree is a well documented pile of poo when his coordinators go on from there as HCs

Breer wrote about it yesterday in his MMQB piece he releases every Monday morning:

• Both Detroit and Carolina are in the tough-to-predict category because of the lack of track record from the controlling owner. If the Panthers make a change, I wouldn’t be surprised to see owner David Tepper, who’s got a strong relationship with the Krafts, to try and tap into the Patriot pipeline. In my talks on these things, New England OC Josh McDaniels and scouting czar Nick Caserio have both been linked to Carolina.

Interesting that Tepper has a strong relationship with Robert Kraft.

Maybe Tepper likes massages, too.

McDaniel isn’t like the others. He’s the first established NFL guy who went to Bill’s staff. It’s not the same so who knows.

McDaniel grew up in the NE system.  It developed him.   NE was his first NFL job.  Was peon.  Worked his way up to OC.

He then left and sucked like all the others and went back.

Only difference is Bill welcomed him back

Voth is saying that VP job is basically a COO.

I interpret that as saying that guy will be in charge.

So tepper hires the VP

Hurney and the vp hire the new coach and assistant gm.

Hurney is given full control as normal but with short leash / or it's more of a committee approach with the VP,  ast gm, hurney and new coaching staff.

Vp will also be hiring scouting staff
