Agreed completely. As I posted earlier in this thread it seems like a sign that Hurney will be given another year. However, until the new league year starts Hurney isn’t really capable of setting the team back long term. It makes very little sense to me to let them go right now or even let them know they aren’t being retained right now unless there is some “off field” issue like they all went to the titty bar on the company card.

Wonder if there is a chance that Tepper already has an "advisor" in his ear?  Someone we just haven't heard about that is looking into the football side of things.

I'd be surprised if Tepper doesn't have several advisers in his ear when it comes to this train wreck called the Carolina Panthers.

Having said that, if you have so little faith in the current management, what is the point in keeping Hurney around?

Yeah, this doesn't sound like Hurney is gone.

The two positions he is creating could take over Hurns job. Maybe Marty is going to get them up to speed before he retires.

“Complement our current football staff” and hiring an assistant GM sounds like current GM stays unfortunately. Tepper also said he is going to start the new coaching search immediately and you would assume you would want to involve the GM that’s going to be running the team in that process. The GM/HC relationship is very important.
