Did anyone see Charles Johnson yesterday?

He's finally putting it all together. He's a big reason we won yesterday. He must have had like 10 batted passes. We will have a hell of time trying to resign these guys. We have to do the best we can to resign Peppers, Johnson, and Davis, and possibly extend D. Williams.

We can do all of that if next year is uncapped except resign Peppers. It's likely we could just tag him again for the uncapped year and afterward we'll have likely gotten the best years out of Pep's career and be ready for a new starter.

I'm thinking if we restructure Jake to vet minimum, restructure(or cut loose) Muhammad, cut ties with Brayton and Lewis we should be able to pull off those resigns. I like Brayton too but CJ has way more upside.

You do realise Jake has to agree to a restructure right? You also can't restructure him to a vet minimum, he already has a fair bit of guarenteed money he is owed, so that can't magically disappear.

I can see Brayton moving on though, although his future is likely tied to the outcome of Peps

Jake doesn't deserve the money he's making right now. I think he knows it too. He's a team player I would expect him to restructure.

Damn I wish I had recorded the game so I could go back and watch it again this time paying attention to details, I hope NFL network replays it soon.

Anyways, yeah he was making plays everywhere, batting the ball and getting in Kurts face, lets not forget to give Pep credit ( which you may have a hard time doing, I dunno ) for taking double teams and letting the other guys do their thing, this is what the Dline is supposed to look like, and it makes our seconday look great ( that and Martin over the god awful Godfrey haha )

there were so many times though I saw a D linemen get to Kurt put their hands on him and either slip or let him slip through their fingers, lets hope its not the same with Brees, we NEED to get him down.

He showed flashes last year but this year he has been playing very well. We went from having 1 great DE, and 2 solid DE's from last year to having 1 great DE, 2 good DE's (Brayton and CJ) and one developing playing in Brown who will probably take a year or two to come into his own. The best thing is that CJ can play DT on running downs.

Now I know CJ looks huge but it also looks like Brayton is a bit leaner and he is all the better for it.

This is why the draft is so important.

If CJ leaves after this year, it will not be because the team did not want to keep him but that they could not afford to match the offers of some of the other teams. The one thing about not having a cap next year a lot of these guys that need to be re-signed are going to be RFA's not UFA's.

I noticed it too, and thought the exact same thing... Hoss has blew up pretty big since he came into the league...

Personally, our defense is getting downright scary, and I think a lot of it can be attributed to Meeks...

If and when Fox is fired, could Meeks be promoted please?

The other thing I will mention that I thought about Johnson yesterday... He's the perfect example of a player we'll likely let go and he'll go on to star somewhere else.. I hope it doesn't happen, but given our history there (especially at the DL), it wouldn't surprise me...

I dont know if I would want him as a coach but his system is starting to fall into place. I would really like to see what he could do with 2 or 3 more years of our players under his system.
