Gettleman vs Hurney... who is the better GM

The bottom line is that Tepper needs to raise the bar and aim higher. We need an amazing HC, draft a great franchise QB, and find a better GM. Everything can be improved, and it should be. We can't just accept middle of the road 8-8 average coaches and players. We have to land a great QB, and dump the average guys like Kyle Allen. Not good enough.

Any previous contracts still around our neck are more on Jerry Richardson at this point than anyone else. He hired Dave, he canned him, and then he brought back Hurney of all people. He set this shitshow of events in motion from the word go. If you want to direct your ire over inept mismanagement somewhere, start with Jerry.

JR was a distracted pervert who was fine with mediocrity. He was too busy lusting after any woman except his elderly wife to properly run a NFL franchise. We've suffered enough losses and Tepper has had enough. Time to turn over a new leaf.

gettleman is actually worse than hurney, and that's really really really saying something because they're both team killers

Gettleman was absolutely better than Hurney.  He fixed Hurney’s mess.  Hurney took over and we became this crap again.

That being said, both should be distant memories if we want to improve.

Seriously, why do we keep talking about Gettleman? Dude is ancient history here and about to be ancient history in NY and for good reason. He sucks.

Hurney is here and hopefully in a much more contained role. I'd rather he was gone but it is what it is. Tepper for some reason is under the impression he's good at something. Maybe he is. I just know we're getting ready to have a new HC and someone else brought in to help with football decisions and lord knows we need help there because hurney can't be trusted with as much as he's been trusted with for too many years.

I don't know if it would be easier. Whole lot of mixed feelings about Polian. I wasn't on that bandwagon. Guy got lucky with peyton and rode his coattails for a decade. I'm of the opinion he was a prick with nepotistic hiring practices but there were/are others in here who were/are long time family friends with a different opinion of him.

add in whether Kerry Collins was a good idea or not. he built a winner really quickly but then ran so I don't know. mixed bag that one.

The people who keep bringing him up generally do so because they're trying to prop up Marty Hurney.

It's a dumb tactic, but if we're being honest, what else have they got?

It's about as dumb as trying to defend Gettleman's time here. 

Both could and should be improved upon. Gettleman is in the past. Hurney should be in the past but isn't.

The bar is set way too frikkin' low here. Surely we can do better than discussing which turd is better. Only one we really need to be talking about is the one that isn't flushed yet. Comparing it with the one that has already turned into septic goo just seems silly.
