We need to ditch drafting BPA and start drafting for need instead.

We've had this discussion before but there's never really been any such thing as total BPA.

If you've got two different players with the same or similar grade and one of them is at a position where you have a need but the other one isn't, you're not going to take the one who's not I need just because he's rated two tenths higher on the scale.

Yup.

Mentioned it yesterday, I want us to draft BPA in the 1st next year no matter what, unless it's a runningback.  Other than that, we have holes all over the roster, especially on the lines.

It’s a balance. When you are a legitimate playoff contender you can draft for need to fill in the gaps and cover the holes on your team.

When you are rebuilding (which looks to be where we are now) you draft for talent and should be taking BPA.

Those stuck in their ways drafting one way or the other are only limiting their success. You have to be fluid in your draft strategy

Not really... how much better do we get drafting say a wide receiver because he was bpa god forbid another linebacker. Everywhere else tho is pretty fair game.

Nothing wrong with having two very good WR's if you have a young QB.

Just saying, take the very best player, at any position not named runningback, we are devoid of talent across the board, and it will look worse at the conclusion of this season.
