Stfu. You don't know what the fug you're taking about.

Which is what I was mentioning earlier.

You'll note here that I referred to this in the very post you quote here as a theory that some people were talking about. There are also opposing viewpoints listed there, such as the part that about knowing that Gettleman wasn't a yes man like Hurney.

Feel free to read through the post very closely and quote where I said I believed it.

Otherwise, the most logical confusion is that you simply didn't understand what you were reading but ran with it anyway.

(wouldn't be the first time) :)

Is this the thread you posted earlier? No! What was that supposed to be. Because he isn’t even in it. So what was that all about?

And citing reports and laying out scenarios isn’t saying anything definitive. Those rumors were everywhere. I don’t buy them. Wasn’t a stretch with a racist owner. It’s not like saying flat out.....JR made MARTY  spend all that money.

Gtfo. I said Scot and Gettleman cronies stated that JR persuaded DG to draft MCCAFFREY. Those were just examples. I never said there was a specific thread. You lost. Get out.

Well, that works as long as you can prove that the phrases "some people have suggested this" and "I believe this to be true" mean the exact same thing.

But hey, your idea might hold water as long as nobody reads the actual post for themselves :)

(good thing you quoted it, huh?)

Damn ether, toomers needs to change his name to tombstone after this

Why? Maybe you could explain the copy and paste of a thread that the person you’re accusing isn’t even present in. I verified he liked the pick. Which I can prove with many posts. Not one.

I’ll get a new name when you move out of your Moms house. You need to get on that.

If you ever did decide to change your screen name, I'd suggest "It's naht a Toomers".

Referring to Mr. Scot's thread, there could be something to the void left when the owner fires a GM and coach at once.  Here is the rub--Why has Hurney not fired RR?  Hurney allows relationships (emotions) get in the way of judgement.  Dave Gettlemen did not, but he sucked evaluating college talent. So if Hurney does not want to suffer the same fate as RR, he is going to have to be the guy to fire him---at least in theory.

I’m a little partial to the Toomers Corner reference(the tree/toilet paper thing) at Auburn. Especially after being there the other day. That was absolutely the best football game I’ve ever seen at any level. Still can’t talk.

What would be the chances of a guy who fell on the sword to save a coach's job turning around and firing him though?

Hell, Hurney didn't even fire John Fox. He just let his contract expire. And from what I've heard, Fox made an absolute ass of himself in the building that season. Even his wife was said to have come in and made a scene.

Ugh....you know what is even more scary, to look at the rest of the first rounders combined. Basically only CMC and Dan Morgan were hits. Almost every other 1st round pick in Panthers history was some level of bust.

1995: Kerry Collins

1996: Tim Biakabutuka

1997: Rae Carruth

1998: Jason Peter

1999: None

2000: Rashard Anderson

2001: Dan Morgan

2013: Star Lotulelei(Not really a bust, just not a star player)

2014: Kelvin Benjamin

2015: Shaq Thompson(Not really a bust, just not a star player yet)

2016: Vernon Butler

2017: CMC

I think Star was a very underrated player, he was drafted to do one thing, solidify the center of the Defensive line, he did just that, his stats we never shiny and would never be shiny, but he always did exactly what he was asked to do. Honestly still believe that was a smash hit of a first round pick and really hate that we let him walk. if we still have star we probably aren't struggling anywhere near as bad against the run.

Shaq is border line bust IMO, I still forget he is on the team way too often, totally not lived up to being a 1st round pick.

Butler played decent recently but also total bust pretty much based on where he was drafted.

Gotcha. I wouldn't have gotten the reference.

Pretty funny conversation, though. I mean, if you're going to mischaracterize what somebody said, it's probably best not to quote it so that everybody can read what was actually written :)

Star is underrated but probably has not produced to where he was ultimately drafted.

Shaq is definitely not a bust, as of yet. He's been extremely productive in his career.

Butler has been a bust. He has looked good this season but him producing in a contract year is suspicious. Perhaps he uses this as a jump start to his career or perhaps he gets a contract and then shuts it down again.

I used to like John Fox early on, probably till the end of 2007, then I was over him, by the time we finally fired that arrogant ass I was happy, I honestly think he did more to hold back some good teams than he helped them win, his meddling in the offense is chief among my complaints.

I've always thought Butler's problems were attitude based so that's possible.
