Hurney should stay on with the Panthers...

At the time of Armanti Edwards drafting, that looked good too.

Nobody judges results by whether they seemed like a good idea at the time. About 99% of the time, they do. That they seem to be but then turn out not to be is what makes a bust.

That's silly, both of the mentioned players have been solid starters in the league and he got both of them on team friendly deals.

With the sole responsibility of making our First round draft pick! Nothing more or less!

if there is one thing I’m going to miss when good old Hurney is gone is the dude for better or worse has been amazing when drafting in the first round. I don’t think anyone here can argue otherwise especially when you stack him against the rest of the League. I mean he has drafted how many potential HOF caliber players?

Dumbest thing I’ve read all year. Hell, Gettleman drafted Star in the 1st with his very first pick ever. and then doubled up with KK to fix our DL that Hurney never bother upgrading. He took KB who was very good as a rookie but decided he wanted to be fat. Shaq has turned out good and CMC was a Gettleman pick. Tell me who you would’ve wanted in 2016. In 2017, the only guy I would’ve taken over Shaq is Landon Collins. Hurney suck!

Can you name a business (much less a competitive sport) where they judge results by whether something seemed like a good idea?

if you screw up something major on your job and cost your employer a lot of money, do you think your boss is going to pat you on the back and say "it's all right; it seemed like a good idea"?

And with regard to the Panthers, are you comfortable with keeping someone in charge who brings in people that seem like a good idea but turn out not to be or do you want somebody that actually makes the right choices?

Hell, why would we even criticize a play call or a quarterback decision. I'm sure they thought the play would work or that the pass would be caught. Can't really blame them if it turned into a sack or and interception, right?

It's a results oriented business. Nobody gets credit for good intentions

KB is a bust. A big chunk of his yardage came in garbage time. He was force fed the ball in 2014 and he had no YAC ability. Worst route runner I have seen by a Panthers starting WR.

Shaq is just a little above average. He's no Thomas Davis.

Yes I want someone who can see the future making all personnel choices.  I think you are living a fantasy world if you think that person actually exists

Well, he has also had the best results by a wide margin in drafting during the first round. Can we use him as a pinch drafter for every 1st round pick?

When CMC sucked his rookie year Scot and company blamed JR for forcing him to pick both CMC and Samuel. They stated that it was unlike Gettleman to select such players. Now that MCCAFFREY is good, they want to give Gettleman all the credit. I have not FORGOTTEN.

I want somebody who gets it right more frequently than they get it wrong.

That's not Marty Hurney.

Which of Hurney’s first rounders besides Otah do you think sucked? Any excuse you wanted to apply to KB would apply to Otah, but aside from that I’m genuinely curious why you think his first round record is awful?

No. You've just remembered something that didn't happen.

I never suggested Richardson forced Gettleman to make those picks or that it was out of character in any way. Heck, I loved both picks. And I thought McCaffrey did just fine his rookie year.

I did figure that Richardson probably loved the idea of picking McCaffrey but so did Gettleman. He certainly didn't have to be forced into it.

And Jerry Richardson forcing the pick of Curtis Samuel? You might want to unwind your tinfoil hat a little. I think it's pressing on your brain.
