I guess in the way that you may not know how many bugs you have until you turn on the lights in your kitchen in the middle of the night.....

So is Tepper going to:

Ignore the bugs(keep coaching staff and GM).

Get some bug spray (keep either GM or coach)

Call the exterminator (get rid of GM and coach)

Burn the muth#E$#$##$ house down (get rid of everybody including Cam and start over excluding CMC and Kuechly).

It's interesting for you to say "get rid of everybody including Cam..." yet you have Cam in your profile picture

If you could go back and read the expectations that people had before this season started...

You know what? You probably shouldn't.

Oh, I recall what most were saying very well, even go back and re-read offseason threads sometimes, just to remember who says/said what.

It's laughable to be honest.

Im about 90% sure that Cam isnt coming back. He is distancing himself from the team, otherwise he would be coming to the games to suppoet his team mates.

Look, maybe he is.  I dont know.  But there is also the possibility that it was asked of him.  Keep a low profile so that the team can try to move on.  Cam has a hard time with body language when he's playing.  I really dont want to see my timelines blowing up with Cam memes and hot takes from the sidelines.  I'm currently trying not to violate my parole by smashing some rando for talking sideways bout my guy.

I’m gonna give the haters something new to laugh about, but here it is:

This team isn’t just sorely missing Cam’s talent under center.

Its also missing his leadership... bigly.

I can agree to this, but I think offensively it's missing his experience big time. Kyle just isn't experienced enough. Yeah we lost our first two games, BARELY though with Cam playing on a fractured foot barely moving and couldn't step into throws. We have a healthy QB and getting beat down

Not saying that at all.. just saying it's an option.  I actually think it would be stupid to get rid of Cam..but I can't act like it couldn't or wouldn't happen.

I think it's more about perception.   The narrative changes with Cam...

If Cam sits on the bench mad at his or team performance... he is pouting.  If it's Brady... he isn't happy with his teams performance.  Look at his intensity.

If Cam on the sideline talking it up, he is distracting the team.   Drew Brees...he shows he's always in the game for his team.

Add to that, it would be constant Cam Newton cut out cam to watch his every reaction to Allen's play.  If Allen throws touchdown, they would be watching to see if he was happy enough or was he really happy... If it's a pick or turnover , is cam reveling in his failure...

Couple that with Cam's inability to hide his emotions very well.... it would be even more of a disaster.  I think Cam's return is based on his injury report (rehab condition), how much he consults or doesn't consult with team officials/doctors, and what his agent tells him about contract.   Cam playing the way he plays and behind our offensive line,  would any QB is his right mind play on a 1 year deal for 20 mill?

So I'm putting it more at 50/50.  IF Cam is recovered and looks good over the summer, and team is willing to offer some guarantees beyond this year either in a long term contract or lucrative short extension then he stays.  I could see everything from a release, to a hold out , to a contract extension.

    • Too late to edit above but the quote is from this Diane Russini article in the Athletic: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5941684/2024/11/23/russinis-what-im-hearing-the-day-the-jets-fell-apart-and-the-broncos-rallied-belichick-best-fits/ Okay.. there you have sorry I left that out the first post.  Also waivers keep the contract intact. That is the major difference in released and waived. It's all in that link from the other post.
    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
