No decision on changes until after the season

To be fair, I think there are some folks here who just so desperately want this team to be good that they'll talk themselves into believing some of our players, coaches or front office people are better than they really are.

Mind you, it doesn't actually change anything.

I hear that, but "good" isn't really in our DNA at this point.  We win about as much as we lose, but have way more losing seasons than winning ones.

Without change (and just replacing an owner isn't going to do it without other changes) I just can't understand how folks can think that we will just automatically be better.

Hell, the odd year thing is something that I think people really do believe in....as stupid as that sounds.

It took 23 years for SOME of this fan base to finally see the Wizard of Oz that was Jerry Richardson before turning on him.

Less than 2 years into Tepper's ownership and the same fan base is already done with him.

Wake me up with Tepper does something good for the football team, and not his bottom line.

Technically, I didn't say it was rational.

Despite the results of our last two games against them, I am fairly certain saying "the redskins did it" is a good reason not to do it.

If you want to compete for a top candidate, you don’t show that you’re the type of owner that may publicly embarrass the coach with a mid season firing.

Counterpoint:

If you’re a top candidate, your primary concerns about taking the job or not shouldn’t be whether you’re likely to get embarrassed with a mid season firing, because you should be confident enough in your abilities that you’re not worried about that happening to you.

Sp you want someone to come in and win a few meaningless games, screwing our draft position and at the same time disrespecting an honorable man who is going to be fired in 5 weeks anyway?

If we want a good long term coach, we need to show class and send rivera home in a respectful fashion. It is in our best interests to just tank the rest of the season with ron at the helm. He isnt going to win another game anyway.

There is an argument to be made that doing so could be perceived in your locker room and across the league as tolerating mediocrity to a degree.

i accurately diagnosed this season as damned from the moment that it was announced that both marty and ron were going to be retained after the week 17 game. countless ppl on here lined up around velvet rope to try to throw poo in my face over it in the summer. maybe they learned their lesson. maybe not. the jury is still out on the johnny come lately types that registered and want to talk about how great everything is going to be before the team plays even one preaseason snap. apparently the ones that have been around long enough didn’t learn it the first time it didn’t work out with hurney 7 years ago.

It's just not that hard to see what the most likely outcome is going to be if there is a track record....and Ron and Marty's is long.

As to learning lessons?  Hah, I doubt it.
