No decision on changes until after the season

Is competitive advantage even a question at this point though?

Is it doing him a favor to let him twist in the wind and force him to keep doing the job that he knows in all likelihood he's going to lose at the end of the season?

I'm honestly not concerned about doing him a favor. This is his bed, if there's no benefit to the organization otherwise then just let him lay in it.

There is another thing to consider as well... say you promote scott turner to interim HC and he wins a few meaningless games. Does he earn the right to be HC next season? What if we end up with another mediocre coach and have 9 more years of no back to back winning seasons?

I dont want to take a chance on that. We need to clean house and fire all of them and hire someone from an organization that has had sustained success. The Turners and oir DC need to be fired as well. We need a fresh start.

If all of the other coaches are going to be let go too, what good does it do to have Norv or Washington or whoever coach for 4 games? It’s not like we have an in house candidate that we “need to see” if they are head coaching material or not.

Hurney needs to absolutely go.  It will be up to the next GM what he wants to do with Rivera, and I suspect the roster deficiencies in addition to the lack of decent replacements will at minimum result in coach being allowed to finish his contract out as the next GM evaluates him for an extension, much to the chagrin of most of this board.

Wrong again, cammvp

IMO there's no other way to do this. I want Ron gone ASAP too, but who the hell would take his place for the last month? Plus, the longer he stays the better our draft position will be.

not quite.. ron will still try to win games to fug our draft position like he did last season.

If you want to compete for a top candidate, you don’t show that you’re the type of owner that may publicly embarrass the coach with a mid season firing.

Bruh we just lost to the Redskins. A team that already fired their coach. He’s embarrassing himself.

Might as well say they are coming back next season. Speaks volumes.

I dont agree. Oakland and the browns have a history of being reactionary and firing coaches mid season... and guess what. No good coaches want to coach for those teams.

Our new coach needs to know that we will give him some time to build his vision on the field. No good coaches will want to come here if he thinks he will get canned  in the middle of his 2nd or 3rd year.
