who was kyle looking for while wright came wide open for a touchdown? (content included)

I must admit, I didn't even bother to find a stream for today's game... I was suffering from an extreme celebratory Iron Bowl hang-over and didn't even bother because I knew it would be an ugly loss or a stupid, ugly, useless win.  So I didn't bother.

But I did hear read from a few sites and tweets that Wright was wide open by about 9 yards on that last play.  Is this true?

I also told him in the game thread I’ve seen cam avoid the same exact passes over and over due to this situation.

in order to hit wright Allen had to go Peyton Manning and go through 3 reads before he sees him AND reset his feet to throw right.

not impossible but a 23 year Allen making reads that quick and being able to turn and deliver a pass to wright would have been very impressive.

it was a slow read by allen and probably a little hesitation form the unblocked rusher from the right.

Bless y'alls hearts.

moore was his first...and only... read.

wright was a result of blown coverage.

Yeah, this I think is unfortunately the case. Theres no doubt that Allen was very uncomfortable in the pocket, and he shows that a lot. It's understandable at times when the whole pocket collapses before you can even set your feet. The thing is, it's starting to look like Allen just doesn't see the field well. That's what makes the great QB's so great, watch Bradys head during a game and see how he scans the field, YES, I know it helps to have more than 1.2 seconds to do so, but I've been seeing this more and more with Allen, particularly when the field is shrunken, like redzone situations. Allen seems hesitant and locks on to one receiver a lot. That being said, I have also seen him go through his progressions nicely when he's been comfortable in the pocket... The difference is that he's not always going to get a nice comfy pocket to throw from, he has to learn how to get rid of it quickly and be able to see the field... I think some players are just more naturally gifted at knowing how to perform in those high pressure situations, so far Allen is losing more than he's winning when the windows are tight... Does he have it in him to be truly "clutch"?  Guess we'll see.

It looked like Moore was definitely his first read, but he came off of that quickly and appeared to look directly at Wright and then... just didn't throw the ball. Maybe his eyes didn't travel all the way to Wright and he stopped at Samuel. Who knows? Either way, at that point he's still standing in a clean pocket with what should be a timer going off in his head. He had to know the time was up. The ball has to come out. It's 4th down. You gotta just throw it into the endzone and hope to get lucky. But nope, let's run 20 yards backwards and then get strip sacked.

Honestly, Kyle Allen is a hero right now. Doing everything he can to get Rivera and Hurney fired, give us higher picks and preventing any thought process that he will be the guy going forward, if there was any lmao.

Lord lol, and the way the media and some people on here ran away with this scrub was ridiculous. For the love of god Cam get healthy soon this team needs you again. Not that these fans deserve it.

Again it’s not about the time wright was open it’s about the time it would have taken Allen to reset to throw to the right as he was already situated to throw left and the approximating distance from the unblocked rusher to the right. It just wouldn’t have worked out. But it would have if Allen made a quicker read. Someone post a damn screenshot.

What unblocked rusher are you seeing here?? The DE on the right side at first was double teamed, Allen had two chances to get the ball to Wright, instead, he just squatted and ran backwards. I have been optimistic of Allen this year, but I'm quickly losing faith based on the last few games. I cannot defend Allen on this play... He is a starting QB in the NFL, if he wants to stay that way, or even on a roster for that matter, then he better start seeing the field WAY better. He looked scared on that play, not CLUTCH. He's been in this situation a few times now and it doesn't seem like he's improved much (in terms of clutch moments). These are the plays that NFL starting QB's HAVE to make.

If the KA backers want to use shell shock as a defense, I'm gonna have to throat punch you.  In all my days watching this odd game we love so much, I've never witnessed the all out assault (on the field) of a player like we saw with Cam.  It's one of the most egregious and provable displays of allowing/encouraging defenders to illegally hit an individual player in the history of the game.  It was like they were sending him a message that he just wouldn't take.

Oh and he was still a mf'n badass. *dab*
