I also told him in the game thread I’ve seen cam avoid the same exact passes over and over due to this situation.

in order to hit wright Allen had to go Peyton Manning and go through 3 reads before he sees him AND reset his feet to throw right.

not impossible but a 23 year Allen making reads that quick and being able to turn and deliver a pass to wright would have been very impressive.

it was a slow read by allen and probably a little hesitation form the unblocked rusher from the right.

Looks like the line gave him plenty of time to find and hit Wright, so I don’t see why they’re getting any blame on that play.

Saints final play in 2017. Cam had a wide open receiver too. And he’s an All-Pro!

Also, the line wasn’t the problem at all this time. By the time #50 broke free and was coming at Kyle freely, going to Wright wasn’t an option. He had the pocket and plenty of time to hit Wright well before feeling pressure

So how did Moton and Turner give up the pressure to #50?  #32 was watching him and probably would have picked it off as he was already drifting backwards and would have thrown off his back foot.  The play was doomed from word go.

In watching the replay I will say I was wrong about an unblocked right rusher he had plenty of time. But the fact remains that the rusher broke free and Allen may not have had enough time to turn right and make the play. This is a different angle than I got on my TV, I got straight behind Allen. Also as I’ve said it was a slow read poor progression by Allen.

I’ll also say I’ve seen cam miss these same reads. A lot.
