Lose today and Ron should 100% be canned

Its already draft season in my head. I'm just hoping we don't go 3-2 to finish the season and end 8-8. I always root for the win, but it is pretty obvious we are cleaning house after the season. The biggest question is what happens to Cam and this will play itself out in spring.

This would be the ultimate Ron move...

Knowing he’s getting canned and coaching his ass off for 4 more meaningless games...

Listening to a local D.C. sports station. Guess what? Skins defense saying they had the running game completely figured out, reading it like a book was said.

Rivera does not change what they do week to week. This ain't pee wee ankle biters. If teams figure you out you're done. Unless you have physical freak at QB that can just overcome your suckage.

Rivera needs to go now. This roster is at least a 9 win team with a good coach.

that's his buddy norv.  they have exactly the same philosophy.   san diego called, they laughed and hung up.

I don’t.  Frankly, this is the only season I think it legitimately could apply.

QB and lines.  That is football.  Never been a season where we had it this bad in Carolina with injury IMO when looking at those collective 3.

I’m not advocating we keep Ron as I think everyone has a window and time at a place.  The Cam/Ron era simply make have run its course.

But as far as 2019 goes? The roster/injury issue just isn’t going to allow Ron to have consistent success.

I can see this line of thought for playing teams like the 9ers GB and the Saints. But when you lose to teams like the Falcons and Redskins there just isnt any excuse. I don’t care if your DTs are picked up off the street. They have talent to beat those teams. This staff just cannot win.

Unpopular take:

Lost starting QB

OL and DLs both injury plagued messes

hard for any coach to win more than you lose with those 3 scenarios going on

You can't even use that excuse. The Steelers lost Big Ben, Connor, Juju, let go of Brown, had some injuries on defense, terrible QB play at times, in the same division as the Ravens, and there still looking to go to the playoffs, may even win 11 games. That's coaching.

That's several things.

1.  They play in the AFC vs NFC.  So while we can put up great play vs the Saints and get a L.  They can put up meh play vs the Bengals and get a W.

2.  As I mentioned, games are won in the trenches for the most part.  Both our lines have been a mess all year.  Steelers haven't suffered that.

LOL...you are trying to argue that the AFC is weaker?

    • If my reply comes off argumentative, that is not my intention so please don’t take it as such.  You said one word, probably subconsciously, in your post that immediately disqualifies him from being a QB in the NFL. You actually said it twice. Kid. It’s exactly how you see him, and exactly how the rest of the entire NFL sees him as well.  Yes, he is a kid, he looks and acts like a kid and that exactly IS the problem. The NFL is for grown ass men. Period. Hell, our kicker looks like he collects ‘taxes’ as a side hustle. These are straight dudes. Men.  Nothing in his persona changed from last year to this.  Nothing in his physical stature. Nothing. He has shown 0 development. 0. And he disrespects the entire organization, talking video games and Netflix in the offseason. Bro. Really. My man Chuba is busting his ass to look good for his second contract. Set himself up for life. How many RBs make it to even sign contract #3? First 2 games he has to run in to a brick wall continuously because Netflix can’t even get it over the LOS.  He’s a kid who pulled off the biggest heist in world history. He looks happier on the sideline goofing around than he ever has looked on the field. It’s time to cut bait.
    • I hear you and I can imagine it's frustrating as a fan, but UNC-CH leaving the ACC would be throwing away over a century of history. It would really suck if y'all, or Clemson, or any of the other remaining charter members leave. I still think it sucks that Maryland left as well. Feels so wrong not having that rivalry anymore. Maryland fuging hated us and I loved it. Who's Maryland's rival now in the big 10? Rutgers? lol. Also, I think that the Heels are more likely to be Kentucky 2.0 than you are to get serious about football upon joining the SEC. Both UNC (and also Duke's) administrations seem very stuck in their ways with sticking to their ways and remaining basketball powerhouses. I do wish we could see NC teams actually competing in my favorite sport sometimes but alas. I personally value keeping our history intact over trying to become top flight CFB programs because nowadays it's just a pay to win sport anyways. Even if UNC-CH got serious I doubt they could compete with that Texas oil money, or that Oregon nike money, or that USC rich kid money. That's all top level college football really is anymore. You're either an established blue blood or you're willing to waste tons of money that could be spent on education rather than football.
    • Maybe a move to the SEC forces UNC to be more serious about football?   I mean we should be making noise in the weak ACC and we can't even do that. How is Duke better than UNC in football right now? It's honestly sad and pathetic.   It doesn't matter if we get another great QB as you said a QB doesn't mean you have a great roster. A QB can only do so much. We lack elite guys in the trenches. That's how you build a program. It starts up front.
