losing Cam for this season maybe a blessing in disguise.

Maybe losing Cam wasn't such a bad thing. It allows our new owner to see the problem areas not masked by our pro bowl quarterback. Hopefully he comes back 100% but at least it exposes where we lack as an NFL Franchise. Coaching, personnel and everything. Where can we improve?

Maybe it forces things that's not been a priority to the top of the list. Maybe we will find an oline for Cam and McCaffrey, and become the best possible rushing attack ever in the NFL?  Who knows? But I feel like this season has highlighted necessary changes that's been holding us back, and now a new very progressive owner witnessing it maybe this is it. When luck goes our way?

Either way I'm thankful I will get to watch.

Our run blocking has improved a good bit. CMC is running through some nice holes nearly every game at least a few times. Pass pro leaves a little to be desired, especially watching games yesterday and seeing QBs have more than 3 seconds to make a decision.

I think if anything, the issues get fixed and Cam comes back and we blow the league up, the issues don't get fixed, Cam comes back and does either well or just OK and people are torn on what to do on this board, or the issues get fixed under a new regime.

The second option is honestly most likely.

if all the losing seasons before this didn't convince the team they needed better coaching and to get a better line around Cam, this season isn't going to be the tipping point in going all in there.

and Cam getting injured this season puts his future here in question, which is rather upsetting, so I would say this is not a blessing in disguise in any sense.

To be fair, current ownership has only  directly experienced two of those seasons and it sounds like he's already tired of it.

Under Jerry Richardson, we could have gone on like this forever.

Rather have an owner who can evaluate the situation without something catastrophic happening. Cam didn't cover up anything he made up for it. You could still clearly see the issues the team has regardless of Cam and any half rate evaluator regardless of business venture can see these types of things.

I’m sure Tepper will find us a franchise level QB who is really good but somehow doesn’t cover up problem areas on the roster with their elite play. In fact I hope all our elite talent only does enough to fill their role so that way we know who the good players are and who the bad players are.

All elite players make other players look better. That’s the fuging point! In the salary cap era you can’t have quality talent at all positions so you build around the best players you have. That means making a system that works to the advantage of your players and uhhh covers up the weak points on the roster.... all offenses and defenses have weak points, it’s why you get great players to make it work despite the flaws!

Cam being cam is a feature, not a flaw. We can get away with it so we can put more money to other places on the roster to make our plans work.

Sick of hearing this line of thinking.
