Who does Josh Allen remind you of...

I'm as big a Cam homer as anyone on this board. I will say Allen reminds me more of Cam than anyone we have ever seen to this point. They both have similar size. Both are power throwers that had the arm to hit any spot on the field. Both struggled with accuracy. But in the way they run.. no other qbs are running qb power.. they are in the same ballpark rushing touchdown and yardage wise.

Not a knock or disrespect to say Allen plays the game in a way that reminds me of Cam. It's a compliment. I'm getting reminiscent actually wishing we were still in the Cam prime area watching. I am in no way saying hes better than Cam just that he gives me vision of him through the way he plays and their team and plays in general.

I'd point out that whatever else you want to say about him, that play where Allen dropped the snap but then picked it up and powered his way through a couple of defensive linemen for a first down was crazy.

Allen needs to continue to work on his passing.  It is getting better, but his arm is the reason he was drafted, not his legs.

They drafted him to use both....both Beene and J.M saw first hand what a healthy Cam could do to a defense. At one time Cam was unstoppable. Every team would love that option.

Difference being that I doubt they let Allen take a beating like Cam has. I doubt they will put a bunch of JAGS and lackeys in front of him. They gave him a decent Oline.

They chose Allen knowing that with a decent Oline, he could be in the mold of a player like Newton. They are moving foward as we tread water and move backwards.

Comparing Allen to Newton does not mean anyone is equating them. Allen is a tall, strongly built qb who forces defenses to account for his ability to extend plays with his legs and an exceptional cannon for an arm. It's pretty natural to derive archetypes from players we know in order to project the capability of unknown (i.e. young) players. In that vein, comparing Allen to Newton is a pretty solid comparison.

Consistency, Can has been inconsistent in his  game play, footwork, accuracy and decision making. Don't misunderstand me, I would love for Can to take the Panthers over the top, proving the hatters wrong but that doesn't mean that I have to be blind to what I see. Kyle Allen is playing behind the same offensive line, well at least not a better one and he's able to make more consistent passes. Let's at least play consistent football..

Lol he has been consistently inconsistent, he pretty much lost us the GB game single handedly, if you dont like Cam just say that....
