Want me to jump on the Panthers' bandwagon? I just need to see 1 thing

maybe I've been away from the huddle ( a total of 2 or 3 days)... but people think Jake is great and this team is a top notch team?

Sounds to me the voices need put to sleep in y'alls head... This is a very good example of people being way to defensive and turning people's statements to mean what they think is being said instead of taking it face value...

i enjoyed this win as much as anybody has but to think this kind of production will continue is crazy. There will be games where inevitably the passing game has to come alive. YOU CANNOT HIDE IN THE NFL! we cant hide jake delhomme forever. the way we are now we would have to rush for over 200 yards to a game to win, most teams are happy with 100-150. we cant be one dimensional. i want us to be a balanced offense. what would happen if we gave up a quick 14 points. with our 1950's gameplan we would be stuck. also what happens if teams stop overpursue on the cutback and start bottling up the run? teams like the jets, giants and vikings. we dont have to be the colts, but we have to get our passing offense at a higher level than peewee football.

I'm not sure if you're referring to me, but yes, I've seen people say that Jake played great yesterday and that the team is turning into a playoff contender.

pretty much everyone falls in the category of reading what they think is being said than what is meant...

by "great", would you prefer if they said "good"?

He had a good game... it wasn't spectacular, but no one is "crowning" him as Manning... If they are, then I wouldn't get too worked up by them. THey are obviously high on crack.

I hope you're right, but I'm pretty sure that we'll look back on this game after the season and see it as the high water mark for the team. Hope I'm wrong though. But 6 horrific-to-mediocre performances this season followed by one good one makes me still think that this is not a playoff team.

Who are all these people who think we are a playoff team? Lets beat the next 3 or 4 teams which makes us 6 or 7 and 4 then I will start thinking about the playoffs.

You are also covering your bases as well. Predict for the worst and then hope you are wrong. If we play poorly you can profess to be Nostradamus. If we turn it around you can say you were hoping for that all along and isn't that great.

Waffler in disguise!!!

Come to think of it, the only guy re-anointing Jake as the Messiah was AK. He's just a little more annoying than most so it makes it seem like there are more people like him on here than there really are.

What do you mean "based on"? I don't know, how terrible Jake has been all season perhaps?

The fact that Jake could go 7 for 14 for 90 yards and look so incredible compared to his other performances this season that he made his fanboys rub one out in glee is all you have to say about how Jake has played this year.

I haven't said anything about Jake's performances this year. I'm all for improvement. Convince me Moore is an improvement. Across the board, his numbers are worse than Jake's on average. You'd have an easier time screaming for Feeley.

can't convince one way or another without an opportunity.

his only opportunities as a starter came when he was a rookie with an oline that was really bad, a poor running game, bad receivers, and a defense that wasn't doing very well either.

not only was he just a rookie, he wasn't with us for the offseason or preseason. he came without knowing the system (such as it was) and still managed to help win 2 games, bring about a bit of optimism (which was in short supply for panther fans that year), and give a respectable performance against the cowboys, even if it didn't result in a win (remember, we don't do that well against dallas when jake is at the helm either).

now he is in his third year with the system, only second being active, and has two training camps under his belt. him starting has more to do with the team being loyal to jake than it does in moore not being able to do the job.

again, what had jake done prior to getting his start here? all he needed was an opportunity. why is it that giving moore a chance just like jake got a bad thing? i think it has more to do with fear of leaving an era. people are too emotionally tied to jake. that's fine but that also blinds people to making the decision to change and move forward.

people are too tied to what they remember of jake rather than what he is doing this year.
