But even though I absolutely want Ron gone. In the first half of the season he did admirable with all the injuries surrounding the team. Gonna give him credit there.

Honestly this has been his scapegoat for several seasons now. When's the last time this team has gone through a full season without a significant injury that hinders the team?

Be that as it may, should Ron get the benefit of the doubt again this year? Due to the huge amount of injuries to key positions on the team?

Cam, Short, GVR, Turner (first part of the season), little, Irvin, Poe, etc.

It's almost like fate is dealing him a bad hand just to get him out of here..

A positive out of this is that there have been players that have stepped up. Unfortunately I believe the injuries have taken their toll on this team.

Injuries are something every coach has to deal with on a regular basis. Remaining competitive in this league is hard, even without them. Cam's trip to IR this year I put on him. He played Cam hurt and then acted like he had no idea something was wrong.

The simple fact is in 9 years there have never been back to back winning seasons. His refusal to change has cost this team too much too often and he has wasted 2 HoF talents, and is running a 3rd into the ground. Ron may be the greatest guy in the world, but his time in Carolina is done.

Every team in the league deals with injuries and as others have said this isn't the first time we've seen something equivalent to last week when a 2-7 Falcons team came into our building and looked like the Patriots.

Ron has run his course.  Right now we're in 2009/2010 Fox and Hurney territory with the opportunity to make the same mistake again by keeping one or both when we should retain neither.  Hopefully Tepper makes the correct move.

Here's what I had to get through as a Rivera supporter:  The following two statements can both be true.

1.  Ron Rivera is a good coach.

2.  Ron Rivera needs to be replaced as the Panthers coach.

That's what I think a lot of people struggle with.  They want only one of those statements to be true, because it makes it easier to swallow the other.  I had to get past that and accept that both could be true.

Sometimes coaches just get to a point where they no longer are the coach a given organization needs.  It doesn't mean they aren't good coaches.  It just means that the organization needs something different to achieve their goals.  I believe that's where we are with Rivera.

100%

Like Andy Reid in Philly. Sometimes it's time to cut ties and move forward for all parties involved.

I think Rivera is a Good coach and can turn the culture around for an organization with some issues. He'd be a good fit in Cleveland, Cincy, Miami, or Washington... Maybe not Washington, that whole situation is a dumpster fire.

Regardless, he's a good coach but not a GREAT coach. We need a great coach and a great GM.
