New coaches generally want to pick their own QB, so if we go new coach, look for one drafted OR, they decide to roll on more season with Allen before drafting one.

Interesting thesis.

I'm curious and would be interested to learn about any teams who  succeeded after hiring a brand new coach while simultaneously running off an MVP calibre QB...

...could you point our 3 or 4?

We'll see. I hope it happens as I'd love to see it happen. If he demands an extension I doubt it happens and I honestly can't blame the Panthers for it even as a huge Cam fan. If he's willing to play under his in essence one year prove it deal, then it's probably possible. If he's willing to re-do that deal to convert some of his base salary to performance and/or a games played type of bonus then I'd say it's probably likely that he stays. How could the Panthers say no to that? How could any Panthers fan ever speak ill of Cam again?

Now, let me just say that I think that last option that I put forth is by far the least likely.

They do but if they have a proven entity or something of value you they are brought in to see if they can fix or work with it the first year or so. Look at arians with Winston.

Brings tears Man!! We want u too!! Just quite being dumb by rushing back from injury!! Let’s let Allen start next year and maybe he can be better and get us some wins til u are healthy for the end season playoff run!!

You actually want Cam to come in for a possible playoff run after he has sat out almost 2 years? That won’t go well.

Hinging your snide remarks on the first half of my statement without quoting the second half is less than impressive.  Makes me think you are still wanting to grind an ax from the last month or so and not interested in conversation.  You can actually just start an ax grinding thread to get it out of your system and not litter up each thread with it.

Anyway, the second half of my statement said that a new coach might not want to tie his future to an oft injured QB of late.  Because the QB, at this point is a risk and will probably want a huge extension.  So the new coaches entire future is dependent, on Cams health.  Normal, rational thinking, non ax grinding people can understand that mundane statement.  Give it a shot.

How fitting you get pie from someone that is deeply offended by the sight of Cam Newton dancing.

Might as well embrace your ilk.

The perpetual chip on your shoulder taints what sometimes comes out as a decent football knowledge, but all anyone sees is the constant "ilk" type statements.  Get the chip off your shoulder and talk about football, you can do it, just leave off the zingers at the end of each post.

Imagine living in a tortured sports city like Charlotte and wanting to run a talent such as Cam Newton out of town from the moment his name was called on draft night.

Man there are some truly stupid people out there.

Ok, I'm not the only one who sees this. They don't know what generational talent means.

You don't get rid of your stars. You keep them and get better Jimmy's and Joe's.

I don't think they've been watching football enough with their basketball strategies.

Cam and Luke etc. are the reason big time free agents even give us a look. These people love misery and JV football.

This is what literally every athlete says. Why on Earth would anyone say any differently?

Tbh I would want to stay in Charlotte for 19 million too. If he's cut it's going to be hard to find that kind of money after all the injuries he's had.
