Now that we are out of playoffs do you sit CMC?

Couple of things at play here.

No chance CMC would be willing to sit.  Absolutely zero.

Secondly, RR has already proven that he will not throw in the towel if we still have a "chance."  Plus, he is (once again) in job saver mode.

How many times have we complained on this board about Rivera playing Newton when there was nothing to play for?

How many times have we expressed concern over the idea that McCaffrey was going to get run into the ground the same as Newton did?

I would sit him down and evaluate the other running backs we have. At the very least, reduce his workload.

Mind you, no way I believe it happens because Rivera is going to be trying to save his job.

No doubt that 90% of the huddle would be in here bitching if he does get hurt. I don’t think he should sit but I would definitely agree with a reduced workload. Maybe drop down to 80/20 or something.

Do you shelve him?  Absolutely not.  

Do you have him in for 100% of the offensive snaps?  Absolutely not.

I would say the NFL's MVP is Lamar Jackson right now, so I wouldn't try chasing that.

That would be embarrassing. Imagine the cameras panning to a healthy CMC on the bench while his teammates are trying hard to win a game.
