While I can agree with the idea, this cut was justified.

Very justified.

I mean, I guess. What did the kid do again? Mess up by trying to do too much on a punt return, and get into a scuffle?

I guess if that's the bar you're setting.

My luvee isn’t about to be fired for continued incompetence displayed his entire career. Everything that’s happening was predicted, and blasted over the off-season. Now you’re grasping for a glimmering hope. I’d say you could root for Marty’s new team, but we all know that will never happen. A FACT that you, and others, ALWAYS ignore when brought up.

  So about those picks.......

Yes he is, Gettleman is hanging on by a thread. That man is no better than Hurney when it comes to drafting.

Gettleman is far worse than Hurney at drafting. He not only wiffs, but he does it by reaching after trade ups. I've never seen a general manager so trade up happy.

I was being a bit extra... but who is the last 3rd rounder we have hit on...Charles Johnson is about as close as I can remember.

Will Grier :shades:

Seriously though, probably Trai Turner.

The guy I mentioned was a defensive tackle who was cut after training camp. He never even made it onto the active roster.

It's not just about yesterday.

If he had done literally anyting worth noting up to this point, he might conceivably have been able to survive yesterday's disaster.

He didn't.

Remember the time he thought selecting two giant, plodders will benefit Cam Newton and the offense after Cam put up good numbers with Smith and Ginn?

See. That’s the difference. I haven’t given a poo about Gettleman since the day he was fired. Why would I? Just because I think he was a better GM than Hurney doesn’t mean I’m his biggest fan. I think every GM is better than Hurney, and so does the rest of the NFL. As proven by his zero offers.

I’m concerned about the moron running the team now. And how it has went from perennial playoff team to what we have now. So we can discuss EVERY move 2.0 has made and see where we stand.

To be fair to Hurney, I'm almost positive Coach Hoke (formerly here) played a huge part in fighting for Gaulden. Kinda like Turner was influential in the Moore and Grier picks.

Some years back, I heard a long time personnel guy talk about how much he despised when coaches got involved in draft evaluation.

Coaches, he said, had a terrible tendency to fall in love with a certain player off of a couple of highlights rather than looking at the big picture.
