This is stupid.. Just like any other position it takes time to develop.. Especially when you've missed practice reps and some TC as Little and Daley did...  There is literally no reason to give up on neither and not go with them after another offseason of training and learning the new system...LT take longer to develop than most position...

How many QBs do you suppose we go through while these young LTs develop?  You don't get developmental LTs.  As a backup sure, but not a starter.   Again, your LT better be a day one starter.  Our best LT in franchise history was Jordan Gross and why?  While he had to adapt to the NFL over college as every rookie does, there was no doubt he was going to be the franchise LT.   So sure, let's bank on  day three LT as a potential starter.  Sounds like a sound plan moving forward!

Little is as advertised, an average LT.  If (BIG IF) Little was drafted as tackle depth, then not so horrible, but reaching...moving up even and hoping he can be the franchise LT?  I say that would be completely idiotic and pretty sure that was Hurney's plan.

I haven't seen enough from Little to form a long-term opinion of him. Daley either in terms of starting. I have seen enough from Daley to be pretty comfortable saying that he was a darn good pick in the 6th round.

My concern with both of them is their ability to stay healthy.

A pretty good number of draft picks wind up failing not because they lack the ability, but because they like the durability.

It's too early to give a definitive assessment. Not to mention, do you really want this coaching staff/FO being the ones that make it? I'd rather see what our(hopefully) new coaching staff and front office think of the situation.

If there is one thing you can almost count on, it is that Rivera tends to fug up the assessment of younger players.

Or in Jeff Otah’s case the ability to walk away from the dinner table. Man he was Awesome his first year....

Oy...

Like I said before, figuring out how good somebody is right now is easy. Figuring out how long they're going to stay that way is another story.

So sound off, was Little drafted as the future franchise LT or as Daryl Williams backup? (The Williams debacle is a whole different discussion.)  Why say you? Personally I think Hurney pushed all his chips to center table on Little despite the questions surrounding him leading up to the draft.

I don't think you trade up in the 2nd round taking a guy planning on him being a backup OT.

Drafted to be? Yes.

Do I think he's going to succeed but n that role? Question mark.

Obviously we won't find 5 new starting OL and 4 new starting DL in one offseason. Luckily I don't think we need to. But it starts with the draft. When was the last time we even used a first round pick on a OL

When there was one worth drafting at the picks we were picking. Seriously.
