Game Notes - Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints

SERIES RECORD

·         Carolina is now 25-25 against the Saints all-time.

 

McCAFFREY CONTINUES TO PRODUCE

·         Running back Christian McCaffrey finished with 133 yards from scrimmage, totaling 64 rushing yards and 69 receiving yards. He entered the today’s game with averaging an NFL-leading 157.6 scrimmage yards per game.

·         McCaffrey is 257 scrimmage yards away from breaking his own single-season franchise record (1,965 scrimmage yards) which he set last season.

·         Christian McCaffrey scored a rushing and receiving touchdown. It marked his eighth career game with a rushing and receiving TD, tying Chuck Foreman for the most in a player's first three seasons.

·         McCaffrey now has 16 total touchdowns this season, leading the NFL.

 

DJ MOORE TOPS 100

·         DJ Moore finished with 126 receiving yards on six receptions with a career-high two touchdowns. It was Moore’s third 100-yard performance in the past four games.

·         Over the last four weeks, Moore has recorded 442 receiving trailing only New Orleans' Michael Thomas for the most over that stretch.

·         Moore’s receiving total was the second-most of his career behind 157 against Detroit in 2019.

·         Moore’s first touchdown came on a 51-yard catch in the first quarter. The score was the sixth of 50+ yards for Carolina this season. 

·         Two of Moore’s touchdowns this season have come on completions of 50+ yards.

·         Moore leads the Panthers with 905 receiving yards this season. He joins Steve Smith and Muhsin Muhammad as the only Panthers with over 900 yards in the first 11 games of a season.
 

BOSTON NOTCHES A PICK

·         Safety Tre Boston intercepted quarterback Drew Brees in the fourth quarter, marking Boston’s second of the season.

·         The interception was Carolina’s 20th takeaway of the season, the fifth-most in the NFL this season.

 

ALLEN THROWS THREE TOUCHDOWNS

         Kyle Allen completed 23-of-36 passes for 256 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions. It marked his second game this season with at least three touchdown passes.
